Mash and The Office were good. IMHO Friday Night Lights was the best.
Seinfield was the worst.
Loved The Office; didn't know if it would be able to maintain it's appeal after Steve Carrell left, but it stuck the landing (with a little of his help). Would add Parks and Recreation had a touching, and appropriate ending as well.
He stood inside the front door of the bar as a customer tried to get in. Said those words.Cheers ending was really good. Sam in his office saying 'we're closed' if i remember correctly.

Agreed. Seinfeld would get my vote for biggest letdown.Mash and The Office were good. IMHO Friday Night Lights was the best.

Interesting take on sitcoms
Breaking Bad is a family sitcom. I laughed the whole way through.
didn't read the title of the thread completely. You got me.

Sorry, but the ending to MASH sucked. There were zero laughs in the whole 3 hour ordeal. We can debate whether it was good TV, but it was a horrible sitcom at the end.Mash and The Office were good. IMHO Friday Night Lights was the best.
Seinfield was the worst.
Bob Newhart was one brilliantly funny dude.
Endings that "sucked", how about Wonder Years, Kevin and Winnie never married, the father died. The other one that never made sense was Secret Agent with Patrick McGoohan.I was one of the few that didn't like the way MASH ended. Too bittersweet for me but I was younger so maybe didn't "get it" as much as I would have if I was older.
Sons of Anarchy was just too dark for me.
Seinfeld's ending sucked.

Never heard that, liked the show was so disappointed with the ending. Must be some old guys/gals on here to remember that show.I read recently that Wonder Years was pulled because one of the make up artists accused Fred Savage of sexual harassment. The woman who played the mom said it was BS. The network decided they did not want the publicity and simply pulled the show.

Expanding the topic to dramas, I think the Sopranos ending was the best.

The 1st 3 seasons of MASH... There are still scenes I LOL at even after having seen them 30 times.
Agree on Seinfeld.... Disappointing.
That's okay, most of the shows cited on this thread weren't sitcoms either. Not a sitcom.
