Best offense for Barkley in the NFL?

Barkley played one year with Hack as QB and a pretty traditional offense, then the last two with an RPO offense. The RPO isn’t widespread in the NFL, but not as many teams have a true FB offense either.

If you could pick any current NFL offense, which would best allow Barkley to flourish? I’m not asking who is going to draft him... Do you think SB would do better with a blocking back or as a lone RB?

Honestly Carolina. Pair him with McCaffrey and they can rotate in the backfield and in the slot with Barkley being primarily in the backfield and that team is terrifying. Cam can run RPO as well.

Eagles would work. Steelers would work. Buffalo would work. But Carolina is the best and he can fit in any offense. I kind hope he some how ends up in SF

I think the Giants are the best fit. They have a veteran QB and superior talent at WR which takes the pressure off Barkley (some). Their OL was really bad but will revamp in 2018. If you look at Wayne Gallman, he was sorely needed out of the backfield and had a good rookie season overall. Saquon is infinitely stronger and more talented so probably his best fit. Next might be the Colts if Luck can get back to form. Frank Gore was pretty productive for old dude. SB could get lots of work in that system.

If draft position isn't a thing it's easy the Cowboys or Steelers, best offensive lines in football. Of the drafting teams, I'm going Giants, Barkley gives Eli another 4+ years and Shurmur knows how to use running backs. If Cleveland gets a free agent QB it wouldn't be terrible, decent O-Line and I'm a Todd Haley believer (at least as an OC).

btw, Barkley would have put up ridiculous numbers this year playing at Stanford in a pro-style offense. Just ridiculous. He doesn't need to be in an RPO offense or primarily in the shotgun. I'd love to see him in Tennessee (they don't need him but still) with that traditional offense and Mariotta.

A non-workhorse offense. Maybe a slack-horse or laze-horse offense if there is one. Perhaps even a beat-the-dead-horse offense.

Steelers O-Line is def one of the best. Coached by a Nittany Lion.

Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! Nate thinks a Steelers unit is the best. Just like he thinks Bell is better than Brady. Crazy, huh?!?!. Good ole homer Nate. Remember when this nutjob said he wasn't a Steeler fan??

It's like some of you Pittsburgh fans live in a bubble where you can only watch Steeler games. Wake up, Steelers were beat by Jacksonville and Bortles!! lol

Earth to Nate, both NE and Philly had way better OLs than Dallas or Pittsburgh. You all are delusional.

I think Barkley would be great in TN with Marcus Mariota. He could share the load with Derrick Henry and so both guys would stay fresh. Combine those two with a young dynamic receiving corps and the future would be bright. Mariota and Barkley are both young, humble stars.

Nice try "NASHVILLE Lion" but I see what you're doing. LOL.

To be fair...the Steelers put up 42 against a very, very good defense. New England didn't move the ball nearly as well. Philadelphia's OL is better. Dallas has a better OL. Tennessee might actually have a better OL. Not convinced New England's line is better--in pass protection they probably are but not in the run game--so it's close. The Steelers did have, I believe, 3 Pro Bowlers on that line. Their line is very, very good. The best--probably not but they're in the mix

The Steelers giving up 45 points to Bortles is probably largely due to the defense not the OL :)

I don't know who has the best OL, the heads always seem to be talking about Dallas's OL though.
Pittsburgh's OL? Itss really preatty good and far, far better than it was even 3 years ago. When all are healthy I'd say its in the top 4-5. Philly is probably #1 and I think the Saints are rated pretty high as well.
The Giants OL is pretty bad so they are going to need help from the draft and FA.
The Colts are pretty bad as well and I'm not counting on Luck at all. I don't mind the Colts but hope Barkley doesn't end up there.

I think he excels in a one back situation where a team spreads the field with 3 wide receivers. His speed and strength will make linebackers in the league hate playing against him.

The Steelers had 3 Pro-Bowlers on the OL this year -- Villanueva, Pouncey and DeCastro.

The OL was not their problem last year .... it was a QB that was hot and cold and a weak back 7 on defense.

Agree. But a couple of their OL did have problems staying healthy.
I put most of the Steelers issues on a lousy DC, a very weak (at almost all positions) on the defense and a not so well liked OC and a HC that I would like to see instill a little more discipline into the team.

Dallas had a better OL in '17? Really?? When? They have a big rep, not much production

I would love to see him at Miami. I think they have a team with a solid nucleus. Jay Cutler has experience and the offensive line is above average. The WR's and TE can stretch the field allowing Barkley to run for big numbers. JMHO

Huh? Jay Cutler maybe the most over rated QB since Jeff George. He stinks.
