Personal foul penalties. Two committed by DDS last night. I saw Barnes talking to him. Gotta keep your head in the game.
Sal Wormly had three penalties against him.
I thought the SEC refs called a solid game. No complaints about the officiating.

Against a better team we may not be able to overcome those dumb penalties. DDS taking a shot at Jeanty was just dumb. Wormley is used to the Big Ten officials lol. Too many false starts though. Time to clean it up. Less room for error moving forward regardless of who we play.

DDS - one personal foul was very well earned. The other was weak.
Wormley- that hold could be called every play. Arm got outside but really just manhandled his guy. The false start I’m thinking the entire line started moving.

They did call a pretty ticky-tack "touch hold" on Wormley - and while they did call some holding on BSU, they ignored a couple blatant tackles which even prompted the E-SPiN announcer to say something like..... - That's a clear hold... BSU got away with a one there. I'm not sure how you call that one on PSU in their last series which was fairly minor, but don't call that one which was very obviously a holding penalty.....

On the PF Penalty on the INT, DDS deserved the flag, but on the tackle of #6 - the 2nd BSU player in appeared to spear (i.e., Target) #6 and they didn't even look at it. Anyone else notice that hit?

Agree. They called offensive line holding early to make it clear they were going to enforce it. They called interference and defensive backfield holding and they were all solid calls.

At times there were an awful lot of flags but it was all real infractions -- both teams were sloppy.

I don't know what got into 33 on that roughing the passer in the endzone. He had a superb game and just lost his head in that moment.

If PSU meets OSU in the Orange, I wonder if they will assign Big Ten officials or opt for ones outside the conference that actually might call most of the real penalties like last night's crew did.
Can't play Ohio State in the Orange--title game but it would still be a neutral crew in theory.

Can we dispose with the “clean it up”…that is not happening.

We are now an undisciplined team….behaving like the teams of yesteryear we used to loathe.

Embarrassing.

And it will catch up with them as it has for over a decade.

How about the cheap shot on the Boise back? Losthis head again? Or undisciplined that will continue to cost us in tight games against good teams.

CFP assigns Officiating Crews and they only use Neutral Crews relative to the teams playing Conferences.

I think Boise's corners got away with murder but the hands to face on Boise on their TD evened things out. No way the anointed ones in the Big 10 get flagged on that vs us.

I'd request that SEC crew from last night. Lots of flags but the refs established early on how they would call the game and they were consistent throughout.

Yes the penalties are very frustrating. Would be nice to see how this team looks if they played clean game.

The one in the endzone was bullshit.

Those penalties were preceded by two incidents of blatant taunting that should have been called against DDS. Our coaches SHOULD HAVE picked up on that and counseled DDS before those late hit penalties even occurred. That kid had lost his composure.

These were just the behavioral incidents that happened to get on camera -- FOUR AGAINST ONE PLAYER that were obvious to a national TV audience.

Why did this happen? What are our players hearing each day, or not hearing, that made this player think such bevavior was OK? These sorts of behaviors put an asterisk next to any success by this team.

Maybe beating a team with more talent is too much to expect, but acting with class is NOT too much to expect. That is base case. Without character you have nothing.

DDS hit was a clean hit just late. He is ahead of the play and may not have realized the back was down. It had to be loud in that environment after a pick. I like DDS being aggressive, thought early in the year he was a little passive. Last 3 games he has been a man child.

Refs were a little too noticeable. Both ways. You are not the show as a Ref in a playoff game. Have to swallow the whistle a bit. Poor job by them yesterday.

Which was a clean hit...the one on the qb or jeanty? Because the latter was dirty and cheap. Dds launched and was lucky not to get flagged for targeting.

Refs were too lenient. They let DDS repeatedly taunt Jeanty and in the end it led to late hits that absolutely had to be called. The adults in the room need to nip that stuff before it gets started.

DDS should have been reamed by the coaches and benched. He had two blatantly dirty hits and it was a disgrace.

The point I would make is that a good coach would have cut that off before it even happened. It is the leniency on the non-contact stuff that eventually leads to the contact errors. For some reason our staff just doesn't get it. Maybe they are afraid of discipline leading to players bolting for the Portal, but to me you have to do it and accept the cost.

Absurd. Taunting is way overcalled. Should be extremely rare. The Refs made themselves the story of the game and that’s not the way it should be.

DDS played dirty on that Jeanty hit and needs some scolding on the sideline. Who cares about the refs. There is no discipline for this garbage

On that same play, the BSU tackler (2nd one in) appeared to spear (i.e, Target) Wheatley, but they didn't review it. Clearly appeared to be a dirty hit - crown of helmet down right into neck area of Wheatley.

How about dork-boy's latest??? I posted this like 10 posts ago at top of page 2:

Go figure he's attempting to claim I said the opposite - fairly typical of this douche-nozzle posing-troll.

You need to relax. You always go overboard with your pet topics, and get obsessive over them. Chill out.

There was one dirty hit by DDS, and it was properly flagged.

He didn't do it again. Problem solved.

The roughing the passer was questionable, at best ... and wasn't dirty in the least.
