Big concern to me remains

You need to relax. You always go overboard with your pet topics, and get obsessive over them. Chill out.

There was one dirty hit by DDS, and it was properly flagged.

He didn't do it again. Problem solved.

The roughing the passer was questionable, at best ... and wasn't dirty in the least.
It’s the same from him every game. All he does is criticize

DDS played dirty on that Jeanty hit and needs some scolding on the sideline. Who cares about the refs. There is no discipline for this garbage
Just curious as to how you would know what discipline was or was not administered to DDS.

Agreed the Jeanty hit was deserving of a penalty. I was talking about taunting being a ludicrous call.

Well, I know that he stayed in the game because he was in there the next play… I mean, do I know if James talked with him in the locker room? No of course not, but playing time and reprimanding on national tv is the best way to send that message. At least that's what joe and most old school coaches did back in those days.

It's not about whether taunting, and other forms of unsportsmanlike conduct, should or should not be a penalty. It's about the attitude and state of mind of the player on your team, which in this case led to the roughing penalties.

You can't play at your best when in an emotional state. That became blatantly clear. Our coaches did not intervene until yardage was involved.

Personal foul penalties. Two committed by DDS last night. I saw Barnes talking to him. Gotta keep your head in the game.
Sal Wormly had three penalties against him.
I thought the SEC refs called a solid game. No complaints about the officiating.
They have to knock that crap off to win the next one no matter which team we get. They better start playing MATURE FOCUSED and DISAPLINED PS football. Relative to penalties no excuse for how they played.

Largely agree. I get “ the passion of the game”, but that cheap shot by Sutton ( who I like very much) made me cringe. I was embarrassed for him. — I understand that this a “ different time” , but Joe would have sat him on the bench for a few series….if not the game. —Solid life lessons are more important than stopping a Heisman Trophy candidate for no gain. Being mentally “ present “ is essential if they’re to advance.

Joe would have been in his face and "given it to him" right there for all the world to see. He would have not liked that crap Sutton pulled one bit. That was not Penn State football.

Forget the "Penn State football" for a minute. It's smart football to avoid those types of penalties. There's a difference between playing aggressive and stupid, and it's not hard to teach the difference. Very, very few teams have the talent advantage to overcome these penalties against a good team.
