For those of you not familiar, the Big E is the New England State's Fair. It's held in W. Springfield, MA each year and each of the states has a permanent building on the fairgrounds. I'm pretty sure that it's one of the half dozen or so largest fairs in the country, and something we look forward to every year. They felt that they just couldn't wait any longer, and had to cancel. I'm not really surprised, but still bummed out.

(It had been scheduled for September 18 - October 4)

Grange Fair has been cancelled. I imagine the Bloomsburg Fair is on the bubble.

Actually “The Big E” was scrapped after WWII!

The aircraft carrier Enterprise dodged being in Pearl Harbor by a few hours and survived the entire Pacific war.....only to be decommissioned and sold for scrap after the war ended.

You can't expect a Navy veteran to know that. Very unfair of you.
