PSU was face down a$$ up before any meetings beganWas PSU given the benefit of a meeting before we were sanctioned? Perhaps, but I wouldn’t place money on it.

I think there is real risk of lawsuits from opposing players who were injured during any of these games.Couldn’t they Sue claiming reduced nil opportunity?
Is this sarcasm?I think there is real risk of lawsuits from opposing players who were injured during any of these games.
Yep and the proper response was you have no authority to do that so see you in courtTo be fair, the phone call went like this: Emmert -- "Your choice is, either we give you the death penalty or you can accept the harshest penalties we have ever invented" Penn State -- "We'll take the sanctions!"
And coaches who have been fired…I think there is real risk of lawsuits from opposing players who were injured during any of these games.
No, it’s not. There is real risk. It certainly impacts player safety when the opposing team knows your plays. Society has become extremely litigious and this is a huge opportunity for attorneys willing to go this route. Is this sarcasm?
Good luck to them proving that the opposition knew the play and without that there wouldn't have been an injury. There's inherent risk involved. Slim to no chance. No, it’s not. There is real risk. I remember watching a story about the sanctions and how it was decided. As I recall from this story, we were going to get the death penalty but someone successfully advocated on our behalf to avoid it but I can't remember who they gave credit to. It may have been a holdout on the NCAA committee but not sure.Yep and the proper response was you have no authority to do that so see you in court

This is the USA Today take from 2015. Some interesting tidbits that may be applicable to today's meeting with the President of Micheatum.I remember watching a story about the sanctions and how it was decided. If you think they can sue for that then you are right that we live in an EXTREMELY litigious society. Ambulance chasers wet dream. No, it’s not. There is real risk. Indeed. These reactions from some people are just bizarre.
Agreed--that why I don't think scholarship reduction is a "severe" penalty.
I don't think it's happened yet but it will. You don't think alumni of Michigan (or any major program) will find a way to make that happen? What starters at any school are walk ons being paid through NIL to bypass scholarship limits? I've seen this mentioned a time or 3, but I fail to follow the logic of it. Who is doing this? I'd like to see examples.

Is that even allowed?Indeed.

I would respectfully disagree in that if anyone knows the details after Harbaugh, it’s the Michigan AD and prez (or at least they should by now). Also the President shouldn’t step in and act until investigation. Same thing that should have happened with PSU but unfortunately their higher ups didn’t play it that way. My opinion at least.

He doesn’t have to wait for the glacial ncaa process. He can summon the coaches to his office and cut through the BS in an hour.
Now, if he does that and insists nothing improper was done then, by all means, defend your coach. Given what we do know, I find that hard to believe (JMO). As Michigan has now apparently fired Connor Stalions, I think it’s fair to say some of these accusations do hold water.
Michigan will meet them in an expensive restaurant, keep them waiting, and leave them with the bill. Whining all the way out about that devastating slap in the wrist.
