I am no fan of hollywood types. Having said that, Bill Murray simply nailed it this weekend at the golf Pro-Am at Pebble. If you haven't seen it, it is amazingly clear. Really starts at about the 1:10 mark.
He basically states that one movement acts as compost for the next. He states that people that think about how to unify will do better than those who try to win their point of view. he basically says that it is wrong to pick and choose groups because that implies you are different, that you can be advocated for because of your differences as opposed to because of what you have in common. He points to Kristin Wiig who is funny because she goes to the root of what unifies, what is common in all people, not by a segment for segmentation's sake.
Really, really great stuff and the attitude that, I hope, will frame the next set of politicians.
