I'm just not sure he is'nt our best WR and I am perplexed he does not see the field more. He catches that 4th down in route yesterday. I just don't get why he is not on the field more.

How good is Trace at going through his progressions? Obviously better than Morelli and Hackenberg. But some WRs seem to disappear as targets
I just can't help but think he made a move on a coaches wife or staffer or something. He has the size of Johnson and the speed of Thomkins with the hands like Hamilton and he just gets a couple passes a game and gets to be a gunner on special teams? I think he is an NFL talent type WR. Big, can run, breaks tackles, can separate....rarely drops anything thrown his way. That 4th down catch and TD run was damn impressive.
Our WRs see playing time based on how well they run block... While our OL seem confused on who to block on running plays.

Let’s not put him in the hall of fame just yet, but he does seem to be under utilized. If it was disciplinary at this point, then he wouldnt have played at all. Maybe he just doesn’t work hard in practice? I’m not suggesting this, but is an example of an explanation that might make sense.
Yep, sacrifice WR pass catching production on 30+ plays per game for a chance at a better run on the 2 times per game that a running play gets past our ineffective OL.... CJF needs to go back and re-analyze that equation....

Great catch and run yesterday. Need to get the ball in his hands more. Lots of potential weapons out there in Blacknall, Johnson, Charles, Gesicki, Hamilton, Thompkins, and Polk.
we have a lot of talented WRs and they all see the field and sit-out plays. i think Thompkins improvement and Johnson picking up time, reduced time for him.
i think when he is in there, he is not as open as you might think. the one interception yesterday he was covered pretty close.
I hope you don't mean the one in the fourth quarter when McSorley underthrew a potential TD pass.
Johnson may be talented, but he has not showed me much this year and his drop yesterday on that deep out was glaring. Referencing the interception thrown his way...blacknall does not need a lot of separation to make a catch. He has great body control and catches contested balls well. If Trace puts that 5 yards in front of Blacknall I have no doubt that was a TD.
My guess is, he doesn't block. I saw it again on Saturday. Forgot who caught the pass (either Hamilton of Thompson) but had Saeed placed a block he would still be running.
I've been wondering this since his freshman year. He's made some big catches in the limited action he's seen.
