This made the front page of The Collegian. Fliers were posted all over campus. The supposed Old Main protest was scheduled for April Fools Day. And the "organizing group" was AFD. Nobody figured it out for over a week. University denial reinforced the "rumor."

It's great that you can drop oodles of cash to send your kid to college, so instead of becoming tolerant and thoughtful, they become more stupid and intolerant. I love how easily they get played.
