Officials in the FBI requested a warrant using as justification an opposition research product that has been widely admitted is garbage but represented to the FISA judge as legitimate when they were fully aware that it was not. And McCabe admitted that without that document they would not have sought the warrant.
So McCabe basically admitted that all of the other information that they had outside the dossier was not sufficient for a FISA warrant. The dossier was critical in receiving a warrant. And it was critical that the validity (or lack thereof) of the document be hidden from the court.
There is no argument that the Democrats, or officials in the DOJ and FBI, can make that eliminates those facts.
