Currently ahead by 8,000 votes after counting more ballots in Maricopa County. This warrants a 'compare and contrast' between the senate races of AZ and TX.
Similarities- Both are border states. Both experience rapid growth. Both experience a migration of people from other states, some say Blue states. Coupled with immigration they are turning blue. Both had Democrat challengers from the extreme left, who positioned themselves towards the center in order to be more palatable to voters.
Contrasts- Sinema, the girl who wore the pink tutu, who said she didn't care if Americans joined ISIS, who called Arizonians meth heads. She manages to bamboozle Arizonians. It looks like she'll win the seat vacated by Jeff Flake. Whereas Robert Francis O'Rourke, aka Beto, the faux Mexican, despite a massive infusion of California money, despite running against one of the most detestable politicians in Washington (Ted Cruz), he still loses! No moral victory there despite what pundits say.
Conclusion- AZ has officially turned blue but TX has a long way to go. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
