Aside from some of the freshman who enrolled early like Wade and guys like Juwan Johnson and Irvin Charles...who are some other names you'd like to see rise on the depth charts over the summer and once fall hits make some plays for us? I know we're all wondering where someone like Sterling Jenkins is and if he'll ever see the field aside from PAT's.

Sorry if this question has been posted, had a baby recently so I haven't had the time go read through all the recent posts.

Not what you're looking for, but Miles Sanders. Safe to say that Saquan is on the clock so would be nice to see Sanders really step up so that tailback is the least of our concerns in 2018. Interested to see if Wade is a contributor this year as a real frosh.

I'll go with Justin Shorter and TE Nick Bowers.

I'm looking at some of the DL prospects like Daniel Joseph and Ellison Jordan.

Spencer has been an amazing coach with this group and these two guys were very highly touted (4 stars, each in the top 20 at their position) coming out of high school. With a year under their belts in the program I think they could be looking at getting really good contributions with these two, like Givens last year.

I second Sanders. He has worked really hard and is ripped and should be even more explosive. There will be a big leap between 1st and 2nd season just like there was for Barkley. I really like Robinson too. This is the strongest tailback group probably since Johnson/Easy/McCoo in 2001.

Well, Bowers may be a good choice, but Justin Shorter is currently a Junior in High School, a verbal commit for PSU's recruiting Class of 2018.
Ha! Sorry was thinking JJ and wrote shorter after watching some highlights on twitter.

With MG and Pancoast both seniors, I would love to see one of the young TEs (Bowers, Dalton or Holland) jump Pancoast and make a meaningful contribution this year. We will need someone to step in for 2018 and can't count on one of the stud commits.

Ha...yeah, gotcha....Juwan Johnson, Irvin Charles, and soon Justin Shorter -- all from Jersey and all in the 6'4" range with good speed; let's hope it bodes well for all to contribute and at least one to be a star

I'm rooting for somebody to step up at LB because we need them immediately. Even more next year once Cabinda & Smith are gone.

Next would be TE because Gesicki is a senior. Also DE where we replace both starters from last year.

I agree that Sanders will stand out. My pick is Robinson, though. He had some great moments i.e. Michigan State, but is the next PSU running back standout.

Hoping Shaka Toney can put pressure on opponents on passing downs, kinda like an Aaron Maybin update.

I'm already on the hook for Simmons from the other thread. Uses his hands, long arms, and strength to make offensive lineman go where he wants them to

Brandon "Fast as lightning" Polk. Also whoever is at center. Make us strong in the middle so SaSa can create havic everywhere.

I have that feeling too that Juwan Johnson is gonna have a breakout year. On the defensive side I see Cam Brown and Shane Simmons breaking out.

I know he just made the move to safety this offseason but, Garrett Taylor breaking out at safety would be a big help to the defense.

Mike Menet. Will be special at either guard or center and should start this year. He was the only lineman to consistently stop Gary in the camps and very much frustrated him. Will be doing it again on 10/21.

I don't know that you can call him a breakout player as he kind of broke out last year. I think the reason we will hear so much about our DE's and OLB's will be because of Kevin Givens. I think teams will have to scheme for him and it will free up the others to make big plays.

On offense, like Fayette lion, I'm really hoping it's Polk. I think he will be a key set piece and will be mismatched with LB's more often than not. I'm also hoping Robinson gets in to spell Barkley and punishes opposing defenses front seven for a few plays at a clip.
