Watching BTN show about Sandusky scandal.
Only 15 minutes in so far but I think they are doing a disservice to Paterno . Same old BS.
Hopefully by the end they have the cajones to admit they rushed to their own judgement. I’m not holding out hope :(

Fargin' iceholes will never let it die. The Lions are to close to their beloved two.

I rarely watch ESPN except for some live sports. I'm frankly very surprised the network still sees any value in producing a show on this topic. Glad I'm not watching.

Wait, the BTN has a show about Sandusky? Is that true, or was this just the 10 year historical retrospective?

I haven't seen the show but it sounds like the BTN is starting an astroturfing campaign. It's never too early to turn public opinion against a certain school in the event said school is competing with another conference school for a playoff berth.

No it's a show about the Big10 during the 2011 and 2012 eras. It wasn't just about PSU or JVP, and they do lots of these shows on different years and cover lots of teams during the show.

Clueless Al Michaels tonight was talking about Bill O'Brien's reformation projects and referred to the "whole Paterno Sandusky mess."......idiot.

When was the last time Al Michaels said anything of value? His best days were with the Reds in the seventies. He has really cashed in on his “do you believe in Miracles” line.

I saw what they were doing and turned it off. That's the best way to handle it.

To be fair, the program wasn't just about PSU and if you are doing a history of that season, you have to mention it. Still....

Yeah, and in looking at their original coverage, they weren't particularly fair to Paterno and Penn State. Not as bad as the Commish himself, but not good.

The media will never let it otherwise it would be admitting they made a mistake or were reporting fake news. Perfect example Al Michaels last night during the Houston vs Kansas City game starts talking about the great job of all the reclamation projects BOB has taken on in his career. Michaels goes on to say his biggest reclamation job was at Penn State when he took on the head coaching job after the Joe Paterno and Jerry Sandusky scandal..... The media is lazy and doesn't want to read any of the things that have come after it and it would involve the media admitting they had a rush to judgement and got it wrong.... neither will happen in our life times.

Nobody defended the honor of our university except Spanier and he had limited time to do so. The BOT sold us down the river in an attempt to keep their own noses clean.

Unfortunately it's not in the interest of any new people (Barron, Franklin, Barber, etc.) to risk their reputations by getting involved.

Well that’s exactly what it was. Be mad at Paterno for being part of the group that failed, not Al.

Spanier was trying to cover his own ass.

It's just too bad that there weren't people trained in the field involved, say 3 years earlier than Paterno, that could have stopped JS but failed to do so. Then you could ramble on and on, posting SSDD about how they failed... oh wait.

Funny....reading up on Harvey Weinstein today.

Meryl Steep and Hillary Clinton claim that they didn't know:
"One thing can be clarified. Not everybody knew. Harvey supported the work fiercely, was exasperating but respectful with me in our working relationship, and with many others with whom he worked professionally. I didn't know about these other offenses: I did not know about his financial settlements with actresses and colleagues; I did not know about his having meetings in his hotel room, his bathroom, or other inappropriate, coercive acts," she continued. "And If everybody knew, I don't believe that all the investigative reporters in the entertainment and the hard news media would have neglected for decades to write about it."
In the meantime, there were references to it on 30 Rock and the NYT spiked an article in 2004.

Almost as shocking as the joebots being offended by the truth.
Well according to John Sneddon the federal agent who spent 6 months investigating the case: "there was no cover up because there was nothing to cover up". Congrats jive, you're part of the biggest rush to judgement in sports history!

Did you even watch it? You and I will certainly disagree on who had the primary responsibility here ( I say it was the second mile and you say it was psu admins ) to report, but what the BTN did last night was run with a slanted version of the story that is undeniably incorrect. For example, they showed Joe's quote completely out of context no less than 4 times ... Anyone who places the words "I wish I had done more" without the most important part is driving an agenda regardless of the truth.

That's what I thought... how could you have a show about those years without mentioning the scandal. I guess you could, but the elephant would still be in that room.

It wasn't that it came up. It had to. How it was handled? Didn't take me too long to figure out the slant--and turn it off.

Has anyone seen excerpts from next month's ATLANTIC and VANITY FAIR magazines? Both trash Penn State and Joe. The Atlantic says Joe Paterno is responsible for the young man dying in the fraternity.

This has to be the case with jive, along with a few others. Barely any posts in non-scandal threads despite a top 5 team and a Heisman candidate RB.

He's not very good at his job. He talks in circles, can't defend his own position, and ignores all the tough questions. He just repeats the same crap over and over. But I guess it makes sense that someone who sucked at life would need a job like that... what else is he going to do?
