See link to article. Says they will wrestle against Indiana, if they are ready. Great coach speak. JoePa would be proud of him. :D

Also, says they considered bumping up Zain and Nolf for the Lehigh dual but doesn't say who would have wrestled 149, but by default I guess it would have been Lee.

BTW, just to see who they would wrestle against Indiana and per the latest Intermat rankings Indiana has NO ranked wrestler at ANY weight class. They have never (at least in recent memory) been a power but they should be better than that.

So one might infer that Keener and Joseph are not yet "ready to go", at least as of Tuesday 12/12?

It had to be Lee. According to JB, Pipher weighed in at about 155.

I heard Josephs problem has more to do with weight then injury. TIFWIW but he had problems making weight a couple years ago and hes at that same weight, So Ive heard he is cutting weight the right way to get more the right size then cutting just enough to wrestle a match.

I could be wrong, but I thought he was having trouble cutting to 157 two years ago. I'm pretty sure he won the 157 pound title at Mat Town Open then bumped up to wrestle 165 later that year ... don't if he was also having trouble making 165.

good point my bad but thats just what I heard from a friend whos dad is a former AA wrestler for PSU

It the weight thing is true, he seems to hide it well. Both Zain and Nolf appear bigger than him at first glance.

I get this is all speculation (and totally irrelevant) but is the thought he didn't make weight for the Penn tourney and then Cael wanted him to safely get it under control instead of a hard cut for Lehigh? Or is the speculation he didn't make weight for either event? I was surely disappointed not to see him live at Lehigh.

I'm not sure I didn't ask to much about it. I said we needed to get Joseph healthy so we can win the scuffle and said hes fine just needs to get his weight right so he can wrestle 165. I was surprised and we moved on

VJ missed the Keystone Classic because of a shoulder injury which occurred at the Binghamton match 2 days prior. Seems it was precautionary. Rumors are VJ missed the Lehigh match because of the injury concerns again or weight issue. Who knows.

I heard directly from an immediate family member of VJ's prior to the Lehigh match it is definitely not a weight issue.

Could've been Zain, Pipher, Nolf.

True, but I'm responding to the original post. If Cael said ' they considered bumping up Zain and Nolf for Lehigh', then Lee would have had to be the one they had in mind for 149.

Just the fact that Lee weighed in tells me he is close to shedding his shirt.

I don't know what the hell is going on in this thread. Rutgers still salty about now being able to pull off the upset of Lock Haven?

From what I’ve heard... VJ had problems making 57 his RS year. He has had no issues at all holding 65. I was told he was “probable” for Lehigh.
It’s so early in the season... zero good reasons to jeapordize a title in March for a meaningless dual in December.

Meaningless dual, sounds like Tom Ryan. Reality is, Staff looked at the match-ups, saw that as long as there were not any weird results, PSU wins the dual without Joseph. It was probably a little tighter than Cael would have liked. I don't see Cael as the type of coach who is okay with losing anything if it can be helped.

FWIW: Heard a snippet on the radio this AM [think it was Byers?] stating that Joseph will go vs Indiana, but Keener still TBD. Again, fwiw.

@PapaBearSLIM

I can't seem to PM you, but would you mind giving me some way to contact you if you wouldn't mind taking a few minutes to talk to me or correspond via email. I would like to get some feedback from you on something.

Thanks
