should have been called earlier, James has taken ownership of it. But that's not what cost us the game. We'd have had less than a minute to get into FG range. There's no guarantee that would have happened the way the O was playing...to say the least. Much more important, IMO, are the systemic issues, and it's not just the OL and QB play. For instance, the D's inability to stop the run. Mobile QB's run all over them, a pedestrian NW RB racks up 170 yds on them, etc. IMO, the DE's can't, or won't, play contain...we see it over and over again. They repeatedly get pushed inside leaving the edge wide open. The only exceptions are Schwan and, to some extent, Cothran...they tend to hesitate for a split second to see how the play's developing before committing themselves. The others seem to go balls-to-the-wall for sacks....the hell with contain. This is on "Coach Chaos" and Shoop, and it better get fixed if we're to have any shot at UM or MSU. Again, JMO.
