It's ridiculous to have teams lose seeding because they play a game and other teams don't.

I've never liked the conference championship games and now I like them even less. Just use that week to be the first round of the playoff instead. I would be much more interesting because everyone playing would either advance or be eliminated.

Have #1 thru #8 get byes and #9 thru #16 play each other in four this weekend. Then again, if you don't like #1 thru #4 getting two byes, then have #9 thru #24 play each other in eight games this week and then have a 16 team playoff from there. Or something.

Conference championship games = stinky IMO.

The other possibility is that the playoff committee will develop a specific policy on CCGs and their impact on seeding. It really depends on the networks. If they see the CCGs as a valuable revenue source, they will stay and CFB will have to find a way to keep them relevant and a positive for the teams involved. Maybe the CCGs get replaced by additional playoff expansion. In any case, so long as the networks are paying the bills, they're going to call the shots.

Yeah, that's what will happen IMO--the playoff expands eliminating the CCGs so the networks don't lose any money
The playoff is going to double sooner than later--probably within 10 years--assuming the SEC/Big Ten don't leave altogether
