set number, "X", of initial offers for each team every year.
Accomplishes:
- No more "processing"
- Encourages, rather than discourages, red-shirting kids who aren't ready to play (or deal with the demands of college) right away
- Puts programs that do things "the right way" (at least according to all those NCAA commercials we get inundated with
), in an advantageous - rather than a disadvantageous - position.
- More time in school for "student-athletes"
- and higher graduation rates, and more meaningful non-basket weaving degrees.
Etc, etc, etc.
And yet - - - - - - NO ONE among the power brokers will even discuss the abundantly simple change.
