Disappointing loss to Southern Cal in the Rose Bowl, but personally I couldn't be prouder of this Penn State football team, it is without question one of my most favorite Penn State football teams I've had the privilege to cover in the past 36 years of owning Blue White Illustrated.

The future is very bright for the Penn State football program. Many believe the Nittany Lions will enter 2017 ranked in the preseason polls as quite possibly one of the top five teams in the country and a prime candidate for making the College Football Playoff.

Off his Rose Bowl performance Saquon Barkley should enter the 2017 season as one of the top candidates for the Heisman Trophy. Penn State and Ohio State should be the leading contenders to will the Big Ten title and I'm convinced with possibly 17 starters coming back for the 2017 season Penn State should be favored in 11 of its 12 to games in 2017.

So even though the 2016 season has come to a conclusion, they'll be plenty for us to discuss here in the Lions Den about the Penn State football program starting at 1 PM tomorrow [Wednesday, Jan.4] afternoon.
