I think the world of Who's #1 Duals, but beside that, this is probably the best Dual Tournament in the country.
St. Eds
Montini
Valley
Park Hill
Simley
Oak Park River Forest

And it's in my backyard. I get the pleasure of following and announcing for Providence Catholic out of Illinois, this weekend.

I think Montini takes it. Izzy has them boys wrestling their tails off, but St. Eds will make them earn it.
Thoughts?

They've had teams from CA (I think Buchanan pulled out this year, but Clovis and Vacaville have come in the past) in prior years. NJ used to send Jackson out (when Goodale coached there) as well as Bergen Catholic.

I'd love, and I know the team recruiters would love to bring out the top East Coast teams, but between competing during Powerade, right after Beast, in addition to rules being difficult for all teams' (MN for instance, can't compete against Prep schools or something) state associations, it gets difficult.

Heck, Punahou, HI was at multiple clashes.

A couple other significant PA tourneys this week -- Bethlehem Holiday Classic and Chambersburg Trojan Wars.

I really like this tournament as well, although I'm not a fan of the day 2 quad meets. Quad meets suck. W#1 is a great idea, but sorry Willie, this year is a quad meet among four of the best teams in the country. Again, quad meets suck.

Give me a bracketed tournament every day as a fan. I know the quad format works for the coaches, but as a fan it's a drama killer. Did I mention that quad meets suck? Akin to best 2 out of 3 periods and the ball grab.

I'll add this - If the PIAA ever got it's schedule together right for the AAA dual tournament, it would be the best dual tournament in the country. VA duals has it right, just doesn't have the horses in it. The Clash could be the best thing going if they would just stick the teams in a bracket and let them have at it.

That Trojan War tourney is pretty tough considering the other tourneys going on this time of year.

Go Post Falls ID!!! Real good local team making the trip
After landing in Spokane, we usually go through Post Falls on the way to my cousin's, near Princeton ID. We always stop at Cabelas on our way through there, it's always in mid November and for the purpose of hunting whitetail bucks. I have had some great hunting there and killed a 160 class, 14 point back in 2011. Hope Post Falls does well in this tournament!

They are the best dual team around right now. I know many of the kids on team. My nephew will wrestle for them in couple years.

We haul logs down to Princeton Idaho. Can't beat northern Idaho

No Kasson this year? Are they somewhat down this year?

Just to clear up any ambiguity, you are saying you don’t like quad meets.

Well, you were right on Montini. That was an extremely impressive performance. I don't really get it, they were 4th at Ironman, very good, definitely top 6 or 7 in the country, but they absolutely swamped everyone at the Clash - some of the top teams didn't even win a single match on the mat against them.
A case of a few teams being overrated or did they just have the tournament of their lifetimes?

Montini is that good. Against St. Eds only 126 pulled an upset. That same 126 didn't place at the Ironman but almost beat the champ in round 1. While those outside of Illinois that aren't deep into the national hs scene may only know the 4 nationally ranked studs, they also have a lot of kids that are fringe Ironman placement types that can beat nationally ranked top 10 kids on any given day. Where they are weakest (220/285) so was their competition yesterday. Those weights may give up 12 points between them against other teams.

Montini looks like a fun team to be apart of. They all expect to win, regardless of dual. Park Hill was chippy and extra, but wrestled well. Valley was what Valley is now, which isn't quite '10 Valley. Eds wrestled hard. Were impressive, other than against Montini.

Montinu is Top 3 in the nation. Are they going to WNO Duals? I announced with the guy who runs the Cheesehead from Kaukauna. Really good dude.

Happy New Year's, ya rats.

Not going to WNO. They should be. After the Clash result, top 3 seems fair although I guess Graham and Bergen and Sem all belong in that conversation. Blair is so unbelievable though, the WNO aspect of it seems ridiculous. A couple of years ago it seemed like they might be headed down off the perch a bit, but now they are so far ahead of everyone. Their B team might be top 10 or 15.
