Class of 2020 Big Board

I really don't follow recruiting nearly as closely as some on this board do, so I typically don't hear about a kid until his scuttlebutt has reached this board, but I'd think several of those in the top 20 will be high on PSU and I'd think that Matt Lee at #90 is a pretty good bet as well.

I really want Beau Bartlett and Matt Lee

After watching Nick and Joe, sign me up for any Lee brother (though I think that's it haha)

Oklahoma State really loading up with this class:
2 Dustin Plott
10 Trevor Mastrogiovanni
18 Jakason Burks
23 Konner Doucet
40 Luke Surber

Oklahoma State has put some serious talent in the room with more coming. Over the next 6 years PSU and the OSUs are going to have some serious battles for team championships.

I hear you but most of the top 20 (and many of the top 100) are already committed. Some (especially Ferrari and Amos) are at the same weights as incoming true freshmen. Others may not be priorities over the loaded 2021 and 2022 classes.

The uncommitted top 20 guys:
1 AJ Ferrari (TX 197) -- a finalist but appear to be a long shot. Probably OKST.
5 Braxton Amos (WV 197) -- a finalist, but he's tied into OSU and VT. Seems unlikely, but never know.
7 Beau Bartlett (Prep 133/141) -- have been hearing Ivy for some time.
9 Jesse Vazquez (CA 149) -- ??
13 Rocky Elam (MO 197) -- will be surprised if he doesn't stay in state. I think his brother is their HWT.
19 Dominic Mata (Prep 165) -- ??
20 Julian Tagg (OH 133) -- ??

The reason I'm not remotely worried about kids in like the 2020 class not looking here is likely cause the spots are pretty spoken for a bit.

I think the big thing is our 165, 174, 184, 197, 285 are likely going to be held by guys who technically haven't even enrolled yet. (Joe Lee, Starocci, Brooks, Beard, Nevills)

Our 149 and 157 spots are likely going to be held by blue chip recruits who are sophomores next year (and have Olympic Redshirt opportunities even) Our 133 and 141 are true freshman/sophomores respectively (both who might redshirt before their careers are over)

On paper I would agree, but in reality, most of those top tier kids that OSU as recruited will be competing 2 weights under their ideal weight.

I have a lot of respect for J.Smith but man does he make his guys cut!

It seems Cael has settled into a pattern of major incoming class followed by much smaller classes for a full year. After Brooks, Beard, Nevills, Lee, Starocci and Ball on the heels of Teske, RBY, Berge, Verkleeren and Manville, I'd expect a few years of smaller classes. But what do I know? I assume Cael has a plan. :D

Of course he does;
- Recruit based on need.
- Quality years (High School recruits-wise) get more commits (with grey-shirts & redshirts this can work out where there might be a logjam)
- Never pass on the best of the best.
- Look hardest at bookend weights.
- Do the best one can, and recruit kids that "fit" the program.

Just my opinion, of course :).

7 Beau Bartlett is coming off the board and its not to PSU... its a Jersey school just not publicly announced yet

Do you think so? He just kinda seems to wing it, more or less, I'd say.
