The difference is they can pick up a reasonable option at backup if needed. They just signed Blake Bortles to the practice squad on 11/4. PSU can't just pull someone out of the portal during the middle of the season.

Aaron Rodgers probably does think the coaching staff should be replaced, given they wouldn't put the ball in his hands with the Super Bowl on the line and they are the ones who drafted Jordan Love so high.
