Pre-seeds are out. Tons of compelling match-up possibilities. Top-4 guys all going at 285. This early in the season, with rankings not based on much, we should see lots of "upsets".

Heard of some scratches already (Snyder, for one), we'll just have to wait and see.

Ugh, I've got Zavatsky in the LMS competition. Gabe Dean and Myles Martin are also at CKLV at his weight.

Lots of those still in the running have one or both of the Valencia brothers -- they both could face some tough competition at 165 and 174 respectively. Others picked Micah Jordan, and he may have to get past Solomon Chishko. Somebody had Brock Zacherl, and he's seeded 4th at 141.

Will be interesting to see who's still in the running in the LMS after this weekend.

Not a bad looking tourney.

I know PSU has Reno soon, but I wouldn't mind seeing Suriano, Cortez, Cenzo, McCutcheon & Nevills in this field and see how they compete.

MJ won't be in danger.

Looking forward to see how Subjeck does here. I think he is better than he is ranked and I think VJ beats him the next time around.

Just bumping this in case anyone else is watching. Both Valencia brothers had first round squeakers, Zahid 7-6 over Army's backup at 174, Ben Harvey (who, to be fair, wrestled Geno tough last year).

Tomasello with a 10-3 win over Wireman of Eastern Michigan...maybe he's rusty but he didn't dominate quite like i expected him to. His size is going to be a factor against top guys at this weight

Burchers wrestled Anthony close twice now so I've got a mixed reaction on that especially knowing How good Burcher can be based on his past results

Tomasello goes against Naser from ASU in the next round. Naser is supposed to be a pretty decent wrestler, so the result will be interesting.

Also noticed that the 4th Nevills is in at 184 for Stanford. He lost in the first round though.

Naser is bad on the mat. Can't ride, easily ridden. Got a neutral fall against Stickley in the 3rd today while losing. Before that happened I was contemplating the real possibility that he could have the only two TDs in the match and end up losing in OT.

I watched Jake Ryan wrestle. He lost to Josh Shields (PA). Ryan has serious gas tank issues.

Are you talking about the OSU vs ASU dual or the CKLV tournament? I watched Ryan come out strong against Shields in the dual, but he faded badly in the 3rd period.

And Shields isn't even in the same league as Nolf. If Ryan can't stay with Shields, OSU might as well forfeit 157 and save him the trouble of being demolished on the mat.

Don't forget that it's also flu season!

BTW, I noticed that Spinger from EMU went 0-2 and out today.

He only has a chance if he hangs in a front headlock for 4 minutes and the ref just stands there. Last year was a joke

Shields pinned Murphy and was winning before that fwiw also Mitch McKee is the reincarnation of Dylan Ness

wow, Logan Massa destroyed Anthony Valencia in a 165 semi, 17-4. His reward -- he gets to face Isaac Jordan (Wisky) in the final.

Massa just destroyed Anthony Valencia 16-4, setting up a must-see final vs Isaac Jordan.

Looking forward to the Isaac Jordan- Logan Massa match up. That should be a good one.
