I have been watching him closely since last year. Maybe the cut isn't manageable for him. That said, he is putting together quite the string of disappointing matches vs different levels of competition. With each loss we can once again see on display Cael's unique eye for talent over 3rd party ranking services as well as match outcomes we can see with our own two eyes.

Sure Hoffman beat Beard by surprise several years back , and sure Hoffman and family wanted wrestle for the Lions since Gavin was a kid. Likewise, I expect we could have secured his talents for far less of the 9.9 not to mention the in benefit of in-state tuition.

Nonetheless, despite Beards apparent need to spend one more year working on his game from bottom, I think it is crystal clear Beard is much further in his development and has a much higher ceiling than Hoffman. Beard's body of work the past year+ has been quite impressive excepting a rare match or two where he has shown results not so dissimilar to that of some of our greatest at the same point in their development.

We are going to be downright scary at 184, 197 and heavy next year once again.

With all due respect, apparently you don't understand the situation. As noted previously, it has already been established on HR that Beard will never defeat Warner in a collegiate match. So there is no need for the HR guys to "hope" about the outcome of Beard vs Warner. The matter was settled some time ago and is closed - no further discussion is necessary.
