It’s odd that people are driven crazy and annoyed by different announcers and color commentators. I actually enjoy Collingsworth. I’m sure that some of your favorites would drive me insane if I weren’t already there.

I'm not sure if he's trying to fill in the dead air during the broadcast, but he seems to go overboard talking up players. If he had a vote for the Hall of Fame, it would be the size of Ohio.
As far as insight, I still remember him very emotionally not seeing a football move that validated a touchdown pass for the Eagles touchdown in last year's Super bowl. It seemed very obvious to me and I don't draw a paycheck from football.

I'm an Eagles fan and I don't hate you. However, I hate hearing Romo doing a game and it's not because he played for the Cowboys. The guy just needs to learn when to stop talking. He often keeps babbling on through the snap of the next play. Maybe the NFL should change the time on the play clock to 60 seconds so Romo has enough time to finish whatever irrelevant point he's trying to make. He also tries to make predictions about what play an offense is going to run based on their formation but he's often wrong. Luckily for Romo he's not a defensive coordinator. Aikman is much better and more succinct.
