I'll start with a classic, as well as another and somewhat forgotten beautiful score, from the Rose Bowl:

The king of highlight reels at Penn State deserves a thread full of highlights. Thank you, Saquon!

There's so many that this could go on for a while. My personal favorite was the opening kick off against Ohio State.

My favorite story was probably from when he was in high school - there was this track and field meet where a girl from another school was deprived of a medal in unfortunate circumstances. Our boy Saquon just gave him one of the medals he had earned at the meet, with no agenda or expectation. This is such an everyday example of natural kindness and generosity, and is what made me first get excited for his future.

Without question the best story about him "as a person" and there's many. He's just a great kid...great man.

We are all lucky to be eye witnesses in our own lifetimes. He exudes qualities in himself that we should all aspire towards. A man's reach should exceed his grasp, Saquon turned that comment upside down.

I love watching him play but, IMO, his best qualities have very little to do with his athleticism. They have everything to do with the kind of person he is.

My favorite story concerns a game earlier this year in which he agitated the crap out of CJF and JoeMo to put a back up running back (can't recall his name; a white kid who I believe is from Pennsylvania) in for some snaps. After the back up went in and acquitted himself pretty decently, all Saquon wanted to talk about after the game was his boy and how well he played. How many other star athletes would do something like that?!

Nick Eury wasn't it?

The first time hurdle vs Buffalo and landing on the Indiana DB in the end zone showed how special he was to the football world. An unreal talent and so glad he is a Nittany Lion forever. Thousands will root for him on his NFL career no matter where he plays (well maybe except New England or Dallas, but that ain’t happening ;))

This will sound a little goofy, but I enjoyed watching him pick up blitzes. Countless times that led to McSorley's success. That part of his game will be missed.

Well said--JMO but he's the best college RB I've ever seen in pass protection. His football IQ is off the charts, his willingness to block is unrivaled and it helps when you're arguably always the strongest person (at least pound for pound) on the field. The kid was willing (and able) to do whatever it took to win. Including getting hit/tackled countless times without even getting a touch due to the RPO scheme. I already miss him

Giving away his gold medal in high school to a girl he didn't know...said so much about him.

This incredible gesture speaks so much to his character. This was the first thing I thought of when I saw this question. It's more important to be a good person than a good football player. Something I ave told my players every year.

Minneosta OT run....if he doesn't make that play and we don't win....who knows? Do we go to back to back NY6 bowls and win a Big Ten Championship?

I think the OSU game in '15 was his breakout game and then I knew we had something special. But, getting ready for the '16 season and I think @Judge Smails posted this vid and everyone here just went nuts - still my favorite just because of how ridiculous it is.

He's one of the best runners with the ball that I've ever seen. But what makes him so special is how he is so good at everything:
  • running
  • blocking
  • catching
  • faking
  • speed
  • power
  • vision
  • game situation knowledge
  • teammate
  • locker room
  • nice teeth
  • interviews
  • humility
  • Over 370 carries without a fumble
My favorite play was the little flat pass against Indiana. He had some great plays as a freshman when the line sucked. But the one-handed catch and then juking the defender is the best. Not only does he catch it easily, he has the immediate presence of mind to put a world class move on the defender. The hurdled agains Iowa a so key. The wheel route against Wisconsin.

Kid is just so, so good.

All great candidates posted here, but two I will always remember:

1. The leap against Buffalo. His first. That was when I first realized he was special.

2. The leap for a touchdown against Illinois. I was at that game. The crowd went nuts. He abused two Illinois defenders, stuck the landing, and kept on running through the end zone, with only one shoe.

You know, as I watch these highlights, I am starting to feel like that 5-year-old girl who doesn't want Barkley to leave Penn State. I will miss him. It's not just his play. It's his attitude. It's the way he carried himself, the way he represented Penn State.

Thank you, Saquon. You will be missed.
