Concerned about Maryland?

I know we should not look past Pitt... but are any of you truly concerned we could go to College Park and get embarrassed by Maryland at night?

The more I think about it and try to look at just how good MD is the more I get concerned PSU is going to lose that game... Thoughts?

lol. Unless PSUs roster turns into Howard's or Syracuse's roster overnight I am not concerned.

It is a possibility. I believe PSU has also struggled in games following a bye week.

We have Pitt and then and off week before Maryland. Won’t be easy but I’m not going to worry about it either.

And is Maryland that good or is Cuse not as good as expected? Probably in the middle.
 
That's the X Factor for me... Trying to figure out how good Syracuse really is. I suppose them playing Clemson might give us an idea? Nevertheless, I don't think it will be a breeze by any means.

The first half was a disaster. I was having flashbacks to App State sitting in my seat and the 3 Buffalo fans in front of me were having the time of their life for the 30 mins of glory they had.

Our Defense in the first have just had me concerned. Our CB's were getting burnt constantly. Clifford was just making passes at some points and hoping for the best (O-Line looked weak).

If we can blowout Pitt again I might feel better.

Just curious, what does your worrying, or not worrying for that matter, have to do with the actual outcome of this, or any, football game? You act as if your "dramatic" recent change of emotions has some relevance to the outcome of this game.
 
Well Vegas isn't all that impressed with Maryland. Opened up at -4 vs Temple this week. Will be keeping a close eye on that outcome.

Maryland has some talent, the Qb from Vt is good and the LB from OSU Jones played one heck of a game vs Cuse and they have Sr's on the D-line could be close in three weeks and the running backs are really good. They kicked the Cuse's ears in.

Maryland beat Texas and lost to Ohio State in OT last year and we beat them 38-3. I do think the game will be competitive but we're certainly good enough to beat them and I expect this team to make strides from week to week. Buffalo gave us exactly what we needed. A tough test that will get the players attention.

I could succinctly point them out, but then you would just morph your multitude of troll names. There is a distinct pattern to your multiple identities and your patterned series of ”innocuous questions” during which you attempt to build board credibility.

You didn’t attend all 13 PSU games last year....you might have attended exactly “1” ....a home loss to your Pennsylvania Big Brother:rolleyes:

Yep. I’m curious to see what the line will do. It’s early, but I already like Temple coming off the bye week. I’m rooting for Maryland though. If PSU wins also, we’d be looking at a top-20 matchup on that Friday night.

Typical early season MD fools gold...not a threat IMO. The nice thing is that they are now ranked, giving us a quality win early in the year.

No way. Anytime Paterno has an extra week to prepare, . . . Oh shit!

Wish we had the sage on our sidelines!!

If anything, the extra week will hurt us, too much time to get cute with the strategy
 
It worries me a little bit. But I suspect that Syracuse actually stinks and should not have been ranked.

Beating Howard is not meaningful

Although Maryland has looked very impressive in their first two games, I don't think Syracuse is Top-25. Also, the Terps have started their previous couple seasons in strong fashion only to implode in Big Ten play. Remember they beat Texas the previous two seasons early. That said, they seem to be hotter than black cat on a tin can roof in August.

I believe we stop substituting too much and will make more big plays in the game. It's going to be a coming out game against a top-20 team. The 2nd half could be a lot like the Buffalo game.

CJF had a lot of reasons to get guys experience and show minimal playbook. He’d love to blow the doors off Pitt and he’d hate a 2-2 record v them.
“Just like Akron?” Akron doesn’t beat PSU 2/4 or 3 of the last 5.

But yeah, there’s still much to fix before Pitt and Maryland.
