Congrats on another fine year, gents! I could piss and moan like a whiny b*tch, but the reality is that you clearly had a better team at NCAAs, regardless of our injuries, and unfortunately I think Cael and company did a better job with preparations. Either way, outstanding work by a fine group of young men!

@ Stand with Pride: Please let me know how much I owe the wrestling club and send me a link. We'll pick it up again next year! :)

Iowa's injuries, starting with Spencer Lee, which really happened last year, was the biggest difference this year. I do think it's an issue beyond just luck, though, too. TnT have cultivated a tough guy attitude around Iowa wrestling, and I think the downside to it is that they push their guys too hard throughout the year and it ends up with significant injuries, especially with your 6th and 7th year guys. Hopefully, they can find a better balance between being tough and preserving health throughout the season. While I love seeing PSU win, I want to see them win with everyone 100% in the NCAAs, and Spencer missing, Eierman a shell, and Kem, Cass, and others either limited or worn out is definitely not 100%. Fully healthy, I think Iowa overtakes Michigan for second. But only second, LOL.

Good luck next year.

Congrats on the great year from me as well. Your team was clutch(it's what you do) in the semis and finals yet again.

Crazy, crazy W/L record that PSU has going in those rounds. Hell of a run right now.

I would imagine that most of you know by now that I appreciate good wrestling, no matter what singlet is being worn. Your team brought the heat again and left no doubt who was the best team in the end. Kudos.

As fans, its fun to take pride in winning championships, sure, but remember to celebrate the character of your athletes as well. I don't need to tell you all as you already know, but your wrestlers all seem like great kids. Willie's tweet about Brooks and Kerkvliet with the homeless man was another testament to this.

Congrats again on the fine year. I look forward to the future battles with my Hawks.

Amen, my friend. We ran into some tough luck this year but still we have areas to work on...and with any luck we'll get a couple more top notch recruits and be working the portal to fill some of our needs so we can be competitive again. I don't want you guys running away with it forever. :)

Don't worry, we're OK with walking away with it ... even crawling away with it if necessary.

I agree with the injury piece and working on a good balance, as well as the second place comments. Our fans can gripe all we want but until we learn how to beat you guys when it matters we're going to have a tough mountain to climb. Just like Jrod indicated, your W-L record in the semis and finals is just incredible...and that's where we need to get. We need to learn how to beat you guys at NCAAs because this past decade, healthy or broken, we have sucked in that endeavor. Looking forward to next year! :)

Valid point, and definitely most satisfying to defeat an opponent at his best. OTOH, arriving at NCAAs at 100% capacity is likely an unattainable standard for most if not all wrestlers at this level. Several of our guys were hobbled during the tournament, including some of our national champs. Brutal sport.

My friend, could you or one of the fellas please send me the link to the wrestling club so I can pay my debt. Thank you. :)
We have 2 clubs, not sure which your bet was for:

Penn State Wrestling Club is more of an alumni/fan club:

Nittany Lion Wrestling Club is the RTC:

Or maybe it was something else?

@STAND with PRIDE can you help Nashville?

@Nashville_Hawkeye, I wonder if we've met. We have always had great discourse with Iowa fans when at the Big Ten or NCAA Championships or the years (save one or two!). Happy to see you here, thanks for the kind words, and on behalf of the PSWC OR NLWC, thanks for the donation.

EDIT: Just saw you donated to the NLWC. Again thanks.

My friend, always a pleasure to contribute to a wrestling team. As for my attendance at B10s and NCAAs, despite my many years I have yet to make it to the Big Ten or NCAA championships. For 26 years the Army was in the way, and for the past 14 it just never worked. That said, I do plan on attending NCAAs at Tulsa and Kansas City and would love to hook up with some of you fellas. Congrats again on a great year!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE 🇺🇸.

It's early, but plan to be at both for sure, as long as I have my health.

Last couple times the Hawks came thru Evanston I offered a round or two to HR guys who ID themselves via their handles, yet crickets. But if you or js or Turk or chief ever make it thru here for whatever see if you can ping me in advance.

If you're in Nashville, consider coming to Philly. It's a haul to drive, but nonstop flights can be had for less than gas to KC or Tulsa -- and you don't need a car in Philly, save parking costs and traffic headaches.

Regardless, thank you for your service.

Hi Mike, I will definitely take you up on that. Thanks a million! :)

I will definitely look into it, El-Jefe. I haven't been there for about 7 years and the wife has never been there. Would be a nice weekend plus getaway...though for her it's all about the hotel/spa time. :)

Can't beat wrestling championships...just a great time of the year!!

Let me know if you need any recommendations. For either/both of you.

Philly is also an outstanding food town. Especially known for Italian restaurants staffed with actual Italians -- the downside is having to re-adjust to Italian in other parts of the country. Also a huge variety of food, can find most anything one might want in walking distance, subway, or short Uber from most hotels.

There's one among us that will be making regular trips to Evanston also. Be great for hlstone to meet a fellow Penn Stater when away from home.

I lived in Delco for six years; worked in center city. Tourist food - yes. But also a must do along with running up the art museum steps and dancing with your arms in the air at the top. :)
No, for the full tourist experience, he needs to do a cheesesteak WHILE running up the Rocky steps.

PS, I'm not originally from PHL but have lived in Delaware County and worked in Delco for 25+ years.

FWIW… Monks was prob my favorite place for food (burgers).
I think I've been there once since the Septa bus plowed thru their front, and not since the virus hit ... but it was always a big favorite. Especially for brunch. Have spent so much time thumbing thru the beer bible, and always cracked me up that the front bar had different taps than the back bar.
