Congrats to IOWA

The battles on the mat were fought, and in the end, Iowa proved it was the better overall team in 2021. Congrats to the team and their fans.

I, for one, am looking forward to future battles with the Hawkeyes.

Indeed- what a great weekend. Congrats Iowa...
Wasn't sure we would get a season this year, and it really ended up being a special one!
Excited for the future- next season is shaping up to be a really fun one...

cheers

Great year! Iowa was the best team and congratulations to the Hawkeye nation on a superb year. Looking forward to next year and the battles between PSU and Iowa. Others in the mix are OkSt, O$U, Mich, NCState, Missouri, Cornell, and Nebraska. Should be a dandy and let’s hope everyone stays.

Congratulations to the Hawks on their team championship. I really like Marinelli, Kemerer, and Spencer. The special that BTN ran on Alex M and his wife Mariah and the heartbreak they suffered through from Eli Stickley's passing showed how grounded they are in their faith. They have overcome a lot in their lives, at such a young age and the future is bright for them.
I definitely was disappointed that we didn't get to see the Iowa/PSU wrestling dual this year. It's like not seeing the OSU and Michigan football game. Welll, maybe not!

Dozens of us have expressed congratulations to Iowa on a great year and gave them well-deserved props for an impressive team performance at NCAAs over the past few days. Those sentiments are spread across many threads, but it's worthwhile to have this standalone thread so that sentiment isn't lost on the more casual visitors to this board. I believe the vast majority of posters here admire great wrestling regardless of the wrestler's singlet color.

Big congrats to Iowa and a well deserved NC. Great group of kids they have. Really looking forward to next year and what looks to be some epic battles for both individual and team titles.

The battles on the mat were fought, and in the end, PENN STATE came out SUPERIOR going 4 for 4 in minting individual National Champions!

Iowa proved, once more, how they can choke in the BIG matches. Iowa got the overall team championship in 2021, but, where it REALLY counted, PENN STATE excelled... again, in helping more of its wrestlers reach their individual goals!

Congrats to the Iowa team and their fans for getting the team title. It's secondary to creating individual champs, but it is still a noteworthy achievement considering you haven't sniffed one in TEN YEARS!

I, for one, am looking forward to re-claiming both titles (individual and team) in the future!

With class and respect,

Hawks were on their game for sure, and fought through a couple setbacks. I like the challenge the white belts have next year.
