The women's team one the conference tournament and the men's team swept Michigan on the road in the Big Ten tournament, just about guaranteeing a spot in the NCAA tourney. While the women's team was good all year, setting a conference record for wins, the men's team came back from the dead.

Team starts season 4-3, all three losses to likely tournament teams, then new goalie gets hurt.

Team goes 3-6 with stopgap goalies. Stands 0-8 in conference.

Goalie comes back from injury. Team gains confidence behind healthy goalie. Becomes hottest team in college hockey.

Sixteen times since 2025 dawned they’ve left the ice celebrating. Only four times were they upset skating off the ice.

13-3-3-1.

And, for good measure, the last three road series, when we really, really needed wins:

@Wisky: trailed 3 minutes out of 120 minutes
@ Sparty: never trailed in 120 minutes
@ UM: trailed for 14 seconds in 120 minutes.

Good players and top notch coaching. No need to fear a trip to Sparty or Goldy for the semis, but it would be nice to host Wisky if they and the Domers pull the upsets tonight.

Watched the Minny game last Friday evening and was impressed. I don't follow the Icers as much as other sports- and was surprised about the transfer portal effect there too.

So the Gophers starting goalie is a former Lion, and ours is from UConn. Not sure how the NIL aspect is in play here- but many are older guys who have played Juniors- most of our team are USHL kids.

I did Gametracker on my phone both Friday and yesterday vs Skunkbears. It is fun to beat them in any sport. Looks like our freshman Cerrato got booted for unsportsmanlike conduct waving goodbye to fans after scoring the decisive goal on a penalty shot.

Generally I'm not a fan of such expression- but in this case F- Them. Hopefully Connor The Staloin was in the house playing his Roger Stone role and was upset. F-Him too....

Go Lions!
