The Championship doesn't always go to the best team. It goes to who is playing the best at the end of the season. PSU looks to be doing that.

Or maybe they're playing the best because they're the best team now that they have their players back from injury and have gotten used to their new offense. Hmmm....

And when those teams are tied at the end of the year you have to go to the tiebreaker. You know head to head on the field where one team wins and the other loses.

Actually it goes to the team that wins the most in conference games. Then head to head if there is a tie. Tie goes to the better team in division. That would be Penn State this year.

I really don't care if we're the best team, as long as we keep winning. In fact, I would rather win a Division and BigTen Title as the worst team because it would mean our players and coaches accomplished more.

OSU isn't used to being in the situation. Under the old big ten rules the head to head result didn't matter and even though PSU beat them on the field, OSU still "shared" the big ten title. Not anymore!

Really? I'm pretty sure you're full of $hit as per usual regarding the Division Championship and right to represent Division in Conference Championship against other Division Champion - it goes to the team to the team with the best record ON THE FIELD OF PLAY as defined by the Conference prior to season play beginning. Laughable nonsense that the Conference Division Champion is not determined objectively on the field of play with all Division members given the exact same opportunity.

Fock you and your backhanded compliment.

We were playing "well enough" to beat your dirty asses when it counted ....mid- season and we have continued to improve thereafter.

GFY and your male boyfriend.

Congrats on your girlfriend too. Nice that she was broken in by the time you met up with her.

I wasn't trolling. I was referring to the other teams in the playoffs, aka Alabama, Clemson, and whomever else. I was talking about the National Championship and that PSU is playing as good as anyone right now.

I've said for the last couple if weeks that I think OSU's best chance if getting into the playoffs would be in addition to PSU, not in place of them.

Thanks for the backhanded compliment.

What the hell is wrong with you people? I come on this Board all the time and never say negative things about PSU. I can see where my OP was taken incorrectly but as I corrected myself, My intent was to say that if PSU goes into the playoffs they are playing as good as any team in the nation right now. They can compete with the Alabama's and the Clemson's.

Was not, did not and have not said in any post that PSU wasn't as good as OSU. One more time, I say that if PSU wins versus Wisconsin they should get into the playoffs. OSU gets in as an addition to PSU, not instead of PSU.

Can I be any clearer?

Clemson ain't in yet.

VT is playing their best football of the year and that's going to be a dogfight.

Colorado will lay down and roll over for Washington however. Hope not, but I can't see it.

Sigh.

But thanks for the insults anyway.
Dude: You may conceivably have meant well, but it sure did read like the epitome of a backhanded complement. Or damning with faint praise. I think this thread is pretty entertaining, and that it presages an entire week of posturing from all parties concerned.

The first sentence in the OP may look like a backhanded compliment. But I would think my saying that "the Championship goes to who is playing best at the end of the season. PSU looks to be playing that way." Is a pretty straight forward compliment.

Lol. I do admit that this was my favorite one. It isn't often I get called out by an 11 year old.
