My Frat!

Love it!

I bought a ‘58 bug in the summer of
‘68. It didn’t have a gas gauge. When it started sputtering, you threw a switch on the floor to the spare gas tank which meant you had about 20 miles to find a gas station. It was light blue in the front and light green in the back. Or vice versa. Around Watts on 322 engine blew a piston on the way home for ‘68 Christmas break. I put a used VW bus engine in it and drove it until ‘73 when I bought a new Bug for $1999. I miss that “engine whine”.

What was a VW Bettle’s windshield defogger?

The rag you kept in the glove compartment.

I hooked up my mother’s hair dryer hose from the rear heat and held it to the areas that needed defrosting, lol!
