Springfield High in Ohio had several visitors in for last night's game, most notably four-star 2017 WR Danny Davis, four-star 2018 TE Leonard Taylor and 2019 CB Moses Douglass. I talked with their head coach, Maurice Douglass, today. He did not go to State College with them ad said on the way back they all stopped at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, so they are not even back home yet. He did give me a couple things, including this quote about last night:
"They loved the atmosphere and with those guys coming away with the victory made it huge for the kids because they like Coach Franklin a whole lot."
That last comment was in reference to the win as it relates to Coach Franklin's job security, and that is very important with regards to Danny Davis. Coach said Penn State is in-line to get an official visit from Davis, but only if Coach Franklin stays. And, he may wait until that call is made before he schedules an official visit.
Davis has his first official visit scheduled for this upcoming weekend to Oregon. He also has one scheduled in November to Wisconsin and Kentucky is also likely to get one. That is the latest on where things stand for him right now. I may get a chance to talk with Danny further tomorrow and will ask him more about his Penn State experience then.
