Maybe I've asked this or it's been discussed before. We obviously have knowledgeable, passionate wrestling people on this board. I would find it hard to believe that we don't have multiple coaches on this board.

I thought I'd start a thread to BS about coaching, ask questions, or share fond/not-so-fond stories of athletes/teams worked with. I started following PA a bit more this year with the HS thread. If you desire anonymity, I get it, too.

I did coach elementary and a little Jr high a high school kid that is 50/50 I can still coach, these ranked kids in high school I have nothing for.

Happy to participate and this should be a fun thread. I've coached a variety of sports (including wrestling) for kids between elementary school and college.

Coached HS cross country and track for 17 years. Still dabble and may get back to it. Currently (and happily) a volunteer assistant on my kid’s 2nd-3rd grade hoops team.

I’ve been coaching for going on 10 years now wrestling wise. Started as a volunteer assistant under my stepdad, was the head coach at a local kids wrestling club for 3 years, and have been the head JH coach at a small school for the past 3 years. I’ve coached other sports like rec football as well. While working towards my bachelors degree, I’ve taken several coaching and leadership courses to aid in my coaching career.

ran a youth club for 10-15 years. Along the way added a year at a middle school and had a club for HS and MS kids in the Spring. Then coached kid soccer -boys and girls) and Little League baseball for a few years....

18 and under girls' fast pitch softball 5 years.

I don't know how some of you do it. I can barely juggle coaching wrestling and my day job. Some of you coaching multiple things simultaneously, sheesh!

I was an assistant coach of the All Marine team for 4 years, coached youth and club. Coached JH for 8 years and have coached HS for the last 3 years. Last son is a Senior this year, still haven't decided if I will hang it up or not. Probably not, keeps me in shape and I still enjoy it.

Very Assistant coach for my kids elementary team for about 6 years. Mostly helped with admin stuff.

Also spent one year as a soccer coach for my brother-in-laws indoor soccer team when he was in HS. Had a future national team member on the team. Basically they needed an adult to sign them up and be there when they ran everything. Also did a few years of u8-10 soccer for my kids.

Former intra-mural and travel soccer coach... boys and girls. U8-U16

Former travel baseball coach.

I was getting pulled into coaching wrestling when my youngest was 5 (he is now 26), but he stopped wrestling and I became a fan.
