I know I'm not an insider but smart enough to know one of the reasons this team sets itself apart is discretion and stopping a potential problem in its tracks. No good could possibly come from this. That's what dm's are for, imo.

Actually, I think this thread has gone very well. It was a concern for me that certain posters would harp on the negative - although I took great pain to emphasize I don't think there are any real negatives, this is par for the course in D1 and it's actually positive we have so few things to "coach up" with this group.

We'll see if some of the posters I would hope use this as food for thought next time they are posting inane crap actually keep it on the rails, but so far so good! This sure ain't no cesspool.

I appreciate any insight into the program. Let's face it, Cael doesn't give out anything. It's a great reminder that the team is comprised of teens and early 20s guys who are from different backgrounds and have had different coaching styles. And even on this team, everything isn't always rainbows and roses.

Cael has the most difficult job in the sport. But he is so respected that people trust him and his staff immensely. To be one of his tournament starters is rockstar status to begin with. It’s even more elevated when they win. Any parent who questions Cael and the staff needs to move on. The Penn State program is at a level where foreign stars are recruiting them now.

I'm not going to speculate about the smoke and who that might be, but I will guess one of two things will happen. Either his parents stand aside, or they follow the Suriano path. Helicopter parents and Cael don't mix well.

It also begs the question: Is Brands taking on another Spencer Lee situation with Bassett and family?
