See the link below. From the article:

"University of Colorado chancellor Phil DiStefano has been suspended 10 days without pay, and football coach Mike MacIntyre and athletic director Rick George both have been reprimanded for mishandling their response to allegations of domestic abuse against former Buffaloes assistant coach Joe Tumpkin.

Colorado's board of regents and university system president Bruce Benson announced the sanctions Monday after releasing the findings of a school-commissioned investigation by the WilmerHale law firm. The probe determined that DiStefano, MacIntyre and George did not intentionally cover up the information they received or break the law, but "mistakes were made," said Ken Salazar, the former U.S. senator and interior secretary who advised the school during its investigation."

Clearly they created a culture where football was put above all else, including human decency.

So I often wonder what happens if parties follow the rule and suspend the coach or player because of allegations, and he/she is be found innocent. Since the accused has now suffered damages, monetary or simply being deprived of opportunity to participate, could they not turn around and sue the institution. When a Penn State Rb was accused of rape, and was suspended, 2007, causing him to miss numerous games, in his final year, thereby affecting his collegiate career, exposure, development, stats etc, that may have had effect on his Professional opportunity,, wouldn't there be good grounds to sue. I.E. You suspended me, damaged me and I did nothing wrong, but now have lost the opportunity to participate, and that cannot be given back.
