Curious why any comments critical of Meyer were deleted from recruiting thread

when posted to explain their 2nd decommit, the decreasing interest amongst their plan A targets and a precipitous drop from top 2 or 3 in both rivals and 247 rankings to currently in the high teens and 3rd in their division.

It seems relevant to our recruiting since Ohio St is trying to plug the holes in a ship taking on water while competing directly against PSU for several top recruits.

Interestingly, if our coach was under fire and not being trusted by recruits and parents, those types of posts would likely not get deleted. But for some reason, it appears off limits to be critical of Ohio St's recruiting efforts as their class falls further and further from the once elite level at which they recruited.

Urban's not a Democrat, is he?

I'm just spit-balling here but perhaps because Urban Meyer and members of the Ohio State class are not a part of Penn State's incoming 2019 Recruiting Class which that thread is intended to discuss???

Guessing you won't have to look too hard though to find a relevant thread for those thoughts if you wish to discuss them. A thread that won't bog down and divert from the Penn State 2019 Recruiting Class that people who click on that thread want to hear about.

Well done. Very simple and clear. I am not sure if it simple enough for the OP but here's hoping.

Meyer and Ohio St are our main competition for most of our remaining top targets. Their class slowly unraveling and a loss of trust in Meyer by recruits absolutely is relevant to Penn St's 2019 recruiting effort.

The 2019 recruiting thread is about the 2019 recruiting effort, not just the incoming class as you stated. Also, the thread includes topics from things that are infinitely less relevant to our 2019 recruiting effort that were NOT deleted. But Meyer, no, he needs to be handled with kid gloves and we are apparently to assume that his instability has no effect on 2019 recruits that both programs are pursuing. That's just not logical. His 2019 class slowly unraveling DOES matter to our 2019 recruiting effort but I suspect everyone including you already knows this.

Argue with a mirror.

If my memory serves me right Urban Meyer had tremendous respect for Joe Paterno and looked up to him. Not sure if this is true but a few years ago I read that UM has a picture of Joe Paterno in his office. Maybe he gets a bit of a break?

I don't think people are disagreeing, just tired of you posting the same thing over and over in multiple threads. Listen closely ....We Get What You're Saying!
Perhaps, although it was my only post that I recall discussing Meyer since the day after the last game 2 weeks ago and others had posts deleted as well. It was prompted by the decommit of another 4 star to their class and the offer of the #40 player in Ohio which obviously shows some desperation as a result of Meyer being recognized as a huge risk right now to recruits. The handful of posts were on point and relevant.

However, now that they were deleted since someone finds it incomprehensible that people would speculate as to why Ohio St's 2019 recruiting continues to slowly take on water and if competitors for the remaining targets such as Penn St will gain an advantage, we end up with an entire thread on the topic.

My point of this thread was to just ask why the relevant topic was apparently out of bounds. So far I see no reason that Ohio St's class falling from #2 or 3 to 18 isn't something Penn St football should care about. It seems to be important.

They also recently offered a bunch of 3* in state recruits that are verbaled to other programs like MSU, Kentucky, etc. We'll see if this is a trend that continues. They got off to a hot start on the 2020 class but that momentum was halted, at least temporarily. 4* Top 50 overall WR Rahim Jarrett is apparently visiting PSU this weekend. He was looking like a big OSU lean until "the troubles" hit. Maybe he still is, we'll see.

Maybe, just maybe it has something to do with the 10+ other threads denigrating O$U? Keep the recruiting threads about PSU recruits... if you feel the need to post crap about O$U every friggin day, go to the Test board or post in one of the other threads about them.

With what specifically in that argument do you disagree? Or is it disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing?
Come on. They're right.

Meyer is relevant but we went off topic and, if you remember, I owned it (in my now-deleted post). Life goes on.

Don't love that the posts were deleted but it's fair enough.

Show me 10 other threads pal. The threads "denigrating" O$U occurred when the national media was "denigrating" them every other day with their cover up. We covered the same ground as the entire country discussing their cover up. Additionally I told you I hadn't posted that I can recollect about their $hit $andwhich since we played them. That's hardly "every friggin day". I just wanted to know why posts noting Ohio St's falling out of favor with common recruits is the type of stuff we should censor from our board. Because it is absolutely relevant.

Go look at the recruiting thread once and tell me it is about only PSU recruits because I can assure you that it is not. Like it or not, Ohio St falling out of favor with elite recruits absolutely affects Penn State recruiting.

I did not view a post like that. Perhaps it was already deleted. But the tangent was less than the current Ishaq Williams tangent and 100X more relevant.

"you" in this case wasn't directed at you... it was a 'generality'. There are people on here that takes shots at O$U, meatchicken, sPitt, etc... nearly every day.

I stopped looking at the recruiting thread when it got past page 5... takes too long to read through all the comments.

The Moderators here have rarely explained why they delete posts. It is their prerogative.

Moderators? We have Moderators? Really?

That sounds like something Guns would say!

Must have been deleted before you saw it.

And at this point, I agree re that tangent my Williams remark caused. What a S-show. Sometimes it’s best to not continue going nowhere defending a post nobody agrees with. Sometimes it’s a swing and miss. Time to move on.
