Dabo Sweeney testifyin’

What about the poor souls whose god ISN'T  Him??? I guess they just burn in 'your Hell?
One religion for the whole world? Rather a narrow minded position, eh? I guess all those poor Hindus around the world can fill up Hell...
Actually when Jesus was on the cross he said to forgive those who persecuted him or wanted him killed because they didn't know what they were doing. In other words he doesn't condemn people for lack of knowledge or ignorance. That's actually an excellent belief system.

By definition there was one creation and one God. I recommend that you buy a Life Application Study Bible. It's 3000 pages will help you understand the divinity of Jesus. God sends no one to hell. People choose hell when they deny him. Yes, everyone who rejects Christ rejects eternity with Him. Like I said: Jesus is either God or He is not. Your choice to acknowledge Him or not. Our opinions do not alter reality.

Wait, so anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus is either dumb or ignorant??? Sounds like a great way to categorize a majority of Earth's population.

I recommend you realize there are many other religions other than Christianity and maybe, just maybe, one of them is the "true" one, and NOT Christianity. I guess you're screwed if that is the case, huh? Hang onto that antiquated belief system though - good on you for being a true believer.

Final thought - you start with "by definition. " Whose definition exactly???

Haha depends on your priorities I suppose. Some, but not all, people subscribe to the idea of "win at all costs" "if you ain't cheating ya ain't trying" "just win, baby" etc.
If you do everything "right" and don't win are you going to have a job for long?

I have seen plenty of hypocrisy from Dabo already. Doing his 'aw shucks, we're just lil ole Clemson' routine while having one of the highest coaching payrolls and most expensive facilities in all of college football.
My life experience has shown me that a great many people who openly tout their faith are very often not practicing what they preach. Some of the worst hypocrisy I've ever seen has been in 'model Catholics.'
Wow… every Christian is a hypocrite because every human sins, even those trying very hard to follow the gospel and avoid sin will fail and sin. Thus in your eyes they will be hypocritical.
But as you deem yourself worthy of sitting in judgement of others, you commit a sin intentionally. I do not know what is in Dabo Sweeney’s heart of your heart but I know I am not worthy of judging you or him !!

Whatever. You're obviously intent on acting like an ignorant ass.

The coach / ex coach at Navy thinks not
Ken Niumatalolo had 3 bad seasons in a row and was cut
Prior to that they were generally competitive. And the academies have obvious limits others don't. It's why I'd like to see Troy Calhoun get a shot at a P5 school.

You are also free to believe what you want. Period, end of story.
Where I have a problem is when anyone feels the need to "urge" me to "make an informed decision." Why? Am I in the "wrong" religion? I guess I need to "see the light" and convert to your religion, which I suppose is better?
Buy and read the Life blah blah blah? No thanks. You have your beliefs and I'll have mine. If everyone in the world left it at that I believe it would be a better place.

Hypothetically, no. But they are not mutually exclusive, if I do everything "right" at my job I win quite a bit.

In college football, winning is essential but not at any cost. Winning slimebags are still slimebags, I don’t envy them. Just my opinion.

I'm not saying you should envy them. I'm just saying the objective is to win. Good guys often don't end up on top.

And I'm saying my objective is to win without being a huge douchebag. Generally speaking the sport is better off when everyone abides by the same rules.

But not everyone abides by those rules...right?
Of course doing something clean is more respectable but ultimately it's just about the W

Are you being dense to be funny?
No--what good is doing the right thing if you fail?
You still don't comprehend that college football is nothing but big business. The goal isn't to be the most liked. It's to be successful. This is like a VP trying to make everyone happy--they're going to fail miserably.
IMO--and it's just that--too many Penn State fans believe that as long as we do things the right way the results don't matter and that's not true. Doing things the right way doesn't matter if you don't win. You aren't proving your way is right--you're just proving you unwilling to adapt and do what is necessary.
For example, I'd take Urban in a heartbeat and that's who Joe wanted to replace him. Joe didn't think he was clean--Joe knew who he was.

"What good is doing the right thing if you fail?" - doing the right thing is a win in and of itself. And doing the right thing does not guarantee failure; success and honor are not mutually exclusive.

Interesting you posture to be an authority on big business. Let's say hypothetically that I am a VP, I treat my team with respect and dignity and am not dishonest with my clients and respectful when dealing with my competitors. You believe I must have failed miserably?

But you can't sell "Success with honor" without success
Is the business successful? The first lesson most leaders learn when they go from mid-management to being an executive is that people aren't always going to like you and they don't need to. The key is them respecting you. You judged not by if you're liked but if you're successful. Same with coaching.

Agreed on about everything you said here! Except that honor is absolutely a part of how I judge people, coaches, business partners, employees, and leaders of people. So it does matter.

Merry Christmas to you!

Merry Xmas to you as well!
And, for the record, I respect that you include honor in your evaluation. Those that make the important decision to keep them or not generally don't.

Interesting to see that the NFL is all up into praying this week. My father used to say “If you live long enough, one day, you will be religious.’

The point? When you are strong (probably young) you don’t need religion. As you get older, and life gets harder, you’ll look for a sound foundation. With what happened in the NFL, people look for strength, hope and reason.

My point? You don’t have to be religious but don’t close the door to religion for yourself or others.

Bottom line. God is either God Almighty or not. Your choice that you will live.

When young and carefree you listen to the beat of the music....when you are old and have suffered loss.....you listen to the lyrics.

I think when we are young and or strong.....we feel a sense of omnipotence. At the very least a false sense of control over our lives.....and the lives of our loved ones.
What happened Monday night, was an unfortunate reminder to many young and strong young men....that they control a great deal less than they thought they did.
I feared very little until my wife died. In many ways she was the strongest person I ever knew. Those experiences change you forever.

Yep. My wife is my life. I pray I pass before her. Thoughts are with you Marshall (my fathers Middle name)

Probably, but when someone is telling me if you are either and don't share that person's religion/beliefs you're screwed, then I have a problem.
