Not a wow factor hire, but Dan is a great guy and I'm glad he is getting his chance. Underdog guy his entire life and very well respected within the Hawkeye family. Congrats DD!
Yet again, they refuse to do what makes the most sense. Put Terry in charge of HWC and hire a middle or upper weight college coach with some solid credentials and name recognition.
Is that what Terry wants?Yet again, they refuse to do what makes the most sense. Put Terry in charge of HWC and hire a middle or upper weight college coach with some solid credentials and name recognition.

Do Terry’s kids get free tuition if he’s just the club coach? That alone represents substantial chunk of change (not to mention the other benefits). Also, Tom and Terry are in their 50s now. I think they’re both settled in for good.
UIowa offers no tuition discount for employee’s family members.
Correct. State employees do get a pension so maybe that has something to do with it given he has already been there a long time. Or it could be that he is one of the best assistant coaches in the nation and deserves to be on staff if he pleases.
I agree that there are several non wrestling factors working against moving Terry to HWC but wonder if they even considered a plan to make it work?
There are no salary limits for the clubs so it comes down to funding. Why not propose a plan to your donors that keeps Terry's salary and benefits where they are while allowing the college team to bring in a big name?
Have to believe if Cael thought it would help both the team and club, he would make a concerted effort to make it happen. Win-Win exist, but it usually involves some effort.
I knew that the Evil Cael lived in heads of Hawkeye fans, but I never knew his control extended to the HWC.
That's lame as shitUIowa offers no tuition discount for employee’s family members.
I would imagine Iowa is cheaper than PSU, possibly by a good amount.
