Have they announced the full line up for PA? I saw a post on another forum that Gavin Park is in at 120.
I'm not sure Oliver could make 160+5. I am assuming it will be Desanto and Fix and some combination of Mejia/Arujau and Courtney/Trampe. Willie tweeted that Fix's camp wants Desanto
Yeah, now picturing Fix sitting in a lounge chair, gold chains, sunglasses and completely white outfit, with scantily clad women fanning him and feeding him grapes, a couple of burly men standing, arms folded, with deadly serious looks on their faces.Fix's camp? That sounds just a bit humorous.
I can't see them selecting Hong. My thought is they figure a way to get Oliver(2X champ) in that slot. I'm also thinking Courtney wrestling Fix with Trampe at 132.

I'm sure someone will mention this eventually, so I might as well be the first - this event is no longer officially called the Dapper Dan. Right?

The new "Orangebanger".Yeah, now picturing Fix sitting in a lounge chair, gold chains, sunglasses and completely white outfit, with scantily clad women fanning him and feeding him grapes, a couple of burly men standing, arms folded, with deadly serious looks on their faces.
Damned right! Otherwise, the lawyers will have won!... so we should just continue to call it the DD ...
This was also my thought. There is a weight allowance that I think is fairly generous. I'd like to see them try to get Oliver in at 160lbs.
You got your wish. Oliver going at 160.
126 Mejia vs. DeSanto announced.
126 Mejia vs. DeSanto announced.
Fix isn't going to be in it anymore. He is going to focus on freestyle. I think the matchups will look like:
120 - Courtney vs. Park
126 - Mejia vs. Desanto
132 - Arujau vs. Courtney
138 - Gomez vs. Murin
145 - O'Conner vs. Verklereen
152 - Hovis vs. Coy
160 - Allar vs. Oliver
170 - Romero vs. Labriola
182 - DePrez vs. Stefanik
195 - Warner vs. Woodley
220 - Singletary vs. Kennerly
285 - Hillger vs. Furman
My picks are bolded
Probably be close to the following... Does not look like an overly strong WPIAL team
120 - Vincent Distefanis
126 - Matt Oblock/Dillan Jeffrey
132 - Hunter Baxter
138 - Dom Means
145 - Jake Hinkson
152 - Kody Komara (bumped from 145)/Logan Witwicki
160 - Caleb Baxter (assuming Hong is on the PA team)
170 - Alec Shaw
182 - Nino Bonaccorsi
195 - Colin McCracken/Eli Grape
220 - Billy Korber
285 - Roman Macek
http://www.wrestlingclassic.com/Actual lineup:
113 - Jacob Dunlop
120 - Vincent Distefanis
126 - Tyler Alberts
132 - Hunter Baxter
138 - Joey Blumer
145 - Kody Komara
152 - Jake Hinkson
160 - Eric Hong
170 - Alec Shaw
182 - Mike McGillick
195 - Colin McCracken
220 - Billy Korber
285 - Roman Macek
I'm guessing they pre-invited him, and then oops, Stefanik won, awk-ward.I think part of the reasoning behind bringing Bonaccorsi on is due to the fact that he is the prized recruit in Pitt's recruiting class and they want to showcase him in the PA dual. Just a guess. If he wrestles Hart, I expect it to not be close
Good point.I don't agree with bringing in Bonaccorsi either, but that's not equivalent. He's the 2nd guy -- Stefanik is in as the champ.
The equivalency would be adding a 2nd match at 120 for Parker.
IMO yes, though 126-145 all are interesting matches. Since they jumble the order, I wouldn't be surprised to see Verk go last since he's local to Pittsburgh. So what is the marquee matchup now? Labriola vs Romero?
