Daughter is getting married today!

At least yours is getting married. Mine has been with the same guy for about 12 years and they have a 7 year old girl together. I would be ecstatic if they would finally tie the knot.

I'm with ya! That's the way they do it now! Find someone, fall in love, jump right into the baby making, then a house, and THEN they start to talk about marriage! It's a little backwards, but I look at it like they could be doing worse things. Times have changed fellas, and we old dudes are along for the ride!lol

Sad and happy all at the same time!
GLOV, from my time lurking here and in my 3 months posting, you appear to be a good man and I enjoy your posts. I have no doubt then, that your daughter is an exceptional woman. I wish her, you, and all your family a happy day, but more importantly, a happy life.

I’d like to think I’m a good guy. And even to those who don’t like me, I’d be there any of them should they need help. No questions asked.

One of the sweetest moments in life. Thinking about how many parents are denied (my late wife for instance) this most satisfying experience......enjoy and consider yourself fortunate. May God Bless your daughter and her husband and may they live a long and fruitful life that includes blessing you with many happy and healthy grandchildren!

Glov, provide your lessons learned from the whole process. I just went wedding dress shopping with my daughter last weekend for a May 2020 event. I did get a little choked up seeing her in the dress. Like others have said, kids don’t always follow the traditional order of things. I became a grandfather in February, so their order will likely be child, married, then house. Future SIL and FIL are UMD fans, so I have to do my best to make my grandson a PSU and Philadelphia sports fan.

Great tune, haven't heard in a very long time. Thanks Jovi

...Glov, the most lasting and enjoyable part of weddings is watching your family grow and experiencing the joy of each addition ...
...we've had 4 children and 5 grandchildren get married thus far and each time I have approached the parents of the new family member to tell them that "in-law" is not in our family vocabulary - each new addition is a full member of our family and we never refer to anyone as in- law ...
...joyfully, not one parent has objected to that suggestion ... :)

CONGRATULATIONS Glov,
Hope you have as much fun at your daughter's wedding as I did at my daughter's in '94.
Daughter is Catholic, Randy is Jewish.
My wife was a miracle worker and was able to put together a traditional Catholic wedding and a traditional Jewish wedding and merge the two.
Kielbasa and Gefilte fish for everyone.:cool:
Just kidding, the food and aminities were great.
Karen put together a wonderful, at the time, cost us $100 plus a plate. No clue what weddings cost today, probably many $$$.

It's not in ours either. We call em' "out-laws". Ah, just kidding.:) We try not to call them at all. Ah, kidding again. :)
