Day 1 Recap: PSU sends 5 to Big Ten finals, but trails Ohio State

So, according to this article Kuhn needs to beat Mattin to advance? I’m so confused on this 6-wrestler bracket for two spots at 125. Can someone please clarify?

No clue. I'll map out what happened and figure it out when I get home...but here's a total guess...based on Roar logic...

All 6 of the losers in 1st and 2nd round wrestle-backs get slotted into a bracket, in seed order.

So, the highest 2 seeds get byes, then it's 3rd seed vs 6th seed and 4th seed vs 5th seed. Those were the matches we saw last night, the rest happens today.

At that point, it's down to 4 wrestlers. Highest seed gets the lowest seed, and the middle two wrestlers meet.

Those winners are your qualifiers in a weight class with 10 qualifiers.

Of course, not a single match contributes anything towards the team race, no advancement, bonus, or placement.
