What this means in the big picture:

9 of our 10 guys will get NCAA draws that put them into the quarters. Davis will too, if he beats Brown. And making the quarters is 1 win away from the podium.

So today was a great step toward having 10 AAs this year.

I think I read that brown was davis's fall back wrestler.

It will be nice if a few can level back up and finish strong, though it isn’t life or death. This tournament always has a handful of surprises, and it doesn’t make or break how someone wrestles a couple of weeks later.

My biggest “want” is that all finish today as healthy as can be expected.

Interesting that Big10 network last night and Flo have no interviews with any PSU guys.

Cael must tell them, no interviews till after the last match of tourney.

I think the lack of interviews is consistent with the well established mentality that this tournament isn’t the prize.
You mean we don’t want our guys doing interviews like what VomBaur did last night?

I could hear it coming once he started down the track of “My coach told me he had a dream last night . . .” — and I was like, c’mon man, don’t do it, don’t do it, don’t jinx yourself like that. And at the last second he realized the same thing and pulled out, pivoting to “made the finals”, lol. He had already gone too far, and no one watching that thought that the dream was about anything less than him winning it.

Reminded me of the Tommy Boy scene when his dad set him up with a microfridge.

It felt as if Big 10 Network was burying the lede with the PSU Wrestling Team in the morning and evening TV matches. The hyped stories were the underdogs getting to the finals, Illinois wrestling surprisingly well etc......very little about the Elephant in the room of the continued dominance of the Big 10 and college wrestling by PSU. The SEC network shines Saban's shoes before football interviews. With PSU dominance in wrestling it probably creates more interest among PSU fans....you would think that the TV Coverage would cater to that interest. The tone will probably change if PSU is positioning themselves to win 4-5 Big 10 championships today.

When winning isn't enough, we need attention.

It's OK. The other teams' fans can have reasons to tune in too.

I agree with your comment, winning is the important thing. It was just odd that the star of the conference was not aggressively promoted by a TV network owned by the Conference.

Think about years past. They would interview a PSU wrestler and he would say oh this is not the real prize. The real prize is next week. So if I’m a TV station airing this the last thing I want somebody to get on and say What you’re watching right now really doesn’t matter. They want some excitement. And that’s what they get from the guys who score the major upsets. That is better TV. Nothing burger for me.

So they probably don’t want anything to do with Kerk, lol.

Heads would explode at Big Ten HQ if the best athletes in the conference openly called the Bo Schembechler Tournament a stepping stone.

LOL!! Love Kerk..but agree..please keep him away from the mic

My personal 2025 rankings of PSU wrestlers from best to worse in front of mic..

1. Cstar and there’s no close 2nd
2. Mitchell..will give a philosophy lesson
3. Beau..always smiling and telling us he’s gonna let it fly
4. Haines..like his vibe
5. Luke..freshman kid in candy store vibes
6. Kasak..dawg..Levi vibes
7. Barr..very grateful for his partners
8. SVN..rarely see him interviewed but still well above these next two
9. Davis..one of worst/funny interviews after B1Gs last year
10. Kerk..nothing gets him excited, can give a shit vibe

I think Zach Ryder will shoot up this list next year..very outgoing kid

But that doesn't fit the narrative that all media hates Penn St. Are you sure Cael told them that?
I am 100% sure he has in the past because I have heard him around nationals…

“You don’t need to talk to TV if you don’t want to except after finals if you win … don’t talk to Flo…”
