The Russian military, having botched its invasion in embarrassing fashion, is hopelessly bogged down, with the operation now appearing to be reduced to daily disjointed bombardment of sundry urban targets...but not in large enough scale to make a decisive difference...while the armor and infantry squats in the countryside accomplishing very little.

In short: a military fiasco of epic proportions.

But the leadership in Moscow does not seem chastened. Putin gave a vitriolic speech yesterday condemning "traitors" -- he sounded like an MSNBC analyst in fact -- while one of his deputies warned that "Russia has the might to put all our enemies in their place."

Meanwhile, Biden calls Putin a "war criminal," the U.S. readies shipments of yet more sophisticated weapons to Ukraine, American elites turn up the volume on their chest-thumping Tarzan act, and the propaganda organs continue their 24/7 onward-to-victory-over-the-evil-Russian-hordes campaign while calling anyone who asks questions a -- you guessed it -- traitor!!!

So it seems that Putin is faced with a fateful choice: either accept a humiliating military defeat with no end to devastating economic sanctions and potential prosecution for war crimes; or escalate...at which point the virtue-signalers and chest-thumpers in Washington's War Party may finally get what they seem to be asking for.
