Also, Parsons taking more snaps... Taylor getting comfortable.... Reid shaking off the rust.... etc
It will be interesting how the 2nd safety plays out Wade / Sutherland and the 2nd LB spot Simmons / Toney and the 2nd DL spot Mustipher / Shelton, these are key spots.

Some of the PSU defensive results in key measurements last year (among all P5 Teams):
Total Yards 21st
Tackles for Loss 3rd
Defensive Pass Efficiency 6th
Scoring Defense 17th
Only 26th best in Yards Allowed per Rush.... probably their poorest result (and far from being “bad”)
Bottom line:
If the Offense does its job, it’s highly likely PSU will be more than fine.
I hate to pee on your toes but someone needs to de-mystify the notion that the defense appeared to get better last season
a) D could not get much worse than what we were treated to for the tOSU and scUM contests (likewise some other conference games) ... D was alarmingly fetid at times
b) let’s review the quality of opponents for the final three B1G games: Rutgers, MD, and an anemic Wiscy... i wouldn't be so quick to hang my hat/dunce cap on those wins...
I do hope these pre-season prognosticators/ windbags are on to something as they foretell of great things for PSU D for this fall... but I will not be writing any checks until i see the money in the bank
