Former Penn State wide receiver Derek Moye has been named head coach at Western Beaver High School in Industry, Pa.
The Rochester, Pa. native spent last season coaching wide receivers at WPIAL powerhouse Aliquippa High School.
A three-star recruit back in 2007, Moye was a three-year starter for Penn State from 2009-2011. He hauled in 144 catches for 2,395 yards, and 18 touchdowns over his Nittany Lion career. He ranks sixth all-time in program history in receiving yards and is tied for fourth with Chris Godwin and DaeSean Hamilton in receiving touchdowns.
Moye bounced around practice squads for most of his NFL career but did play in seven games for the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2013 season, catching two passes for twenty yards and one touchdown. His most recent NFL gig was with the Tennessee Titans practice squad back in 2014.
He takes over a Golden Beavers squad that finished 2018 with a 3-7 record in the WPIAL 2A division.
Best of luck this season, Derek!
