The Disney Duals (technically, the AAU Scholastic Duals District Division, held at Disney) concluded today. Young Guns Black 2015 defeated Middle Atlantic Blue, 25-22. The actual results in the finals were:

106: C J Manley (Young Guns) dec Tyson Klump (Middle Atlantic Blue), 3-2
113: Max Murin (Young Guns) dec Austin DeSanto (Middle Atlantic Blue), 1-0
120: Colin Glorioso (Young Guns) pinned Daniel Moran (Middle Atlantic Blue), at 1:49
126: Luke Karam (Middle Atlantic Blue) dec Gus Solomon (Young Guns) in UTB, 2-2
132: George Philippi (Young Guns) dec Jonathan Gabriel (Middle Atlantic Blue), 9-4
138: Cam Coy (Young Guns) majored Kyle Shoop (Middle Atlantic Blue), 15-2
145: Kent Lane (Middle Atlantic Blue) dec Robbie Patrick (Young Guns), 5-2
152: Michael Kemerer (Young Guns) dec Michael Labriola (Middle Atlantic Blue), 10-8
160: Kaleb Young (Young Guns) dec Cole Walter (Middle Atlantic Blue), 5-3
170: Christopher Weiler (Middle Atlantic Blue) majored Jake Shaffer (Young Guns), 13-0
182: John Jakobsen (Middle Atlantic Blue) dec Colin McCracken (Young Guns), 7-4
195: Hunter Ritter (Middle Atlantic Blue) dec Drew Phipps (Young Guns), 7-1
220: Andrew Dunn (Middle Atlantic Blue) dec. Jacob Robb (Young Guns), 7-3
285: Michael Rogers (Middle Atlantic Blue) dec Jake Beistel (Young Guns), TB-1, 2-1

Young Guns were up 25-6, and then Middle Atlantic Blue came roaring back. I didn't see any of the matches, but based on the results many of them were probably excellent competitions. The Karam - Solomon match must have been a real war, and Kemerer looks to have had a real battle with Labriola. El-Jefe, feel free to add info on some of the lesser known guys that participated in the finals.

Most of the guys on both teams are PA, Ritter (MD) being the lone exception.

To add HS teams:

106: Manley (Altoona, AAA 2) vs. Klump (Nazareth, AAA 1) -- rematch of the AAA state final which Klump won 3-1.

113: Murin (Central Cambria, AA 1) vs. DeSanto (Exeter, AAA 5). I'm not sure what to make of this match. Both are very offensive-minded guys. DeSanto, if you'll recall, suffered a neutral fall OT loss to Devin Brown at Hershey on a very fast pin in a scramble.

** Side note: really love Murin for 2017 ... except PSU may have no room for him after this year's haul.

120: Glorioso (Huntingdon, AA SQ) vs. Moran (Northampton, 113 AAA 4). Moran was 2014 runner-up at 106 to Brown. Glorioso took 5th in 2014; I was shocked that he didn't place in 2015. Glorioso winning isn't terribly surprising, but Moran shouldn't be getting pinned.

126: Karam (Beca, 2x state champ, Bucknell commit) vs. Solomon (Franklin Regional). IIRC, Solomon has never been to states due to injury; he was ranked #1 in PA at his weight before defaulting in the postseason. This probably was a war. Both are extremely tough on top.

** Side note: watch Solomon for 2017 (obviously depending on the 2016 haul). He's at a national level despite the past injuries, and possibly under the radar due to the injuries and some Spencer Lee guy.

132: Phillippi (Derry, 2x AA champ) vs. Gabriel (Bedford, AA 126 champ). This is like a full week of offense out of Phillippi. Glad to see it out of him, he's certainly capable.

138: Coy (Penn Trafford, AAA 2; 2014 champ) vs. Shoop (Boiling Springs, AA 3, Lock Haven). Like Phillippi, Coy may have saved up a week's worth of scoring for this one match. Him winning convincingly is no surprise, but "convincingly" for Coy is 3-0.

145: Lane (Southern Columbia, AA 1, Lehigh) vs. Patrick (Ligonier Valley, AA 2). Patrick is just a sophomore, someone to watch for 2018. He blasted his way through Hershey, until he ran into Lane in the finals (5-0).

152: Kemerer (Franklin Regional, 145 AAA 1, 4x finalist, Iowa) vs. Labriola (Beca, AAA 3). Labriola came on strong this year, definitely someone to watch for 2017. Beat Iowa commit Kaleb Young at Hershey.

160: Young (Punxsy, 152 AAA 4, Iowa) vs. Walter (Mifflinburg, AA 1, Lehigh). This surprised me. Young is good, just thought Walter is better.

170: Weiler (Wyoming Seminary, Lehigh) vs. Shaffer (Latrobe, AAA 4, Virginia). Not unexpected, Weiler is a top 15 national recruit.

182: Jakobsen (Stroudsburg, AAA 2, Lehigh) vs. McCracken (Waynesburg). Jakobsen is a pinner and a monster on top, last seen losing 1-0 to Stout in the state final. McCracken is pretty good, gave Stout a tough 5-4 match at regionals.

195: Ritter (John Carroll MD, Wisconsin) vs. Phipps (Norwin, AAA 3, Bucknell). Phipps is good. Ritter is a former freestyle national champ. No surprise here.

220: Dunn (Beca, 285 AAA 1, Virginia Tech) vs. Robb (Armstrong Central/Kittanning, AA 2). Dunn is definitely the better wrestler. No surprise here.

285: Rogers (Seminary, NC State) vs. Beistel (Southmoreland, AA 2). Beistel is a dancing bear. Subtract 80 lb from each guy, and Rogers wins handily.
