Assume half are minors, so excluding them = 136M
$500B / 136M = $3,676.47
Is that enough to "heal old wounds?" I'm thinking there are people who will blow through it in a month, and we'll be right back to square one with respect to healing. But that's the pessimist in me. Not to mention, I don't know where one can get land for $90 per acre. $3,600 might buy a dispenser of narcotics a prime corner in Elijah Cummings' district. I don't know the going rate. Anyway, this is Williamson's idea of self help.
Also, taking into account Bernie's assertion that 40% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, how's bankrupting 54M going to help soothe hurt feelings.
