I've been married over 40 years and today my wife just noticed I stirred my drink counterclockwise. I am right handed. She says clockwise is the proper way. What do you say?

I'm also right-handed and stir my drinks CCW. CW doesn't feel natural. This is like one of those genetic tests: when you clasp your hands which thumb is on top, can you roll your tongue, etc.

Go with the Coriolis Effect
and don't disrupt Mother Nature.

You are more efficient, given the Earth's rotation.

Both. I stir clockwise, then counterclockwise. I'm right handed.
OK currently at a Chinese restaurant in northwest Houston and got some iced tea, which needed a little sugar added. Found myself stirring both clockwise a few times, then counterclockwise a few times. So I second the coolestfish on this one. We know we must be accurate on matters of such importance on the all knowing Board.

EDIT: should have added that I'm right handed, which is something like 89% of the population from what I recall.

People who stir clockwise and counterclockwise are not only natural agitators....they apparently like to go "both ways".

It shouldn't surprise any of us that the coolestfish likes to rotate to the other side. How else does one explain the week long cruise with Fabian:)

Counterclockwise when needed, but I have perfected the mix/pour method. Bottle of vodka in one hand, bottle of Fresca in the other hand. Simultaneously pour each liquid into a heaping glass of ice. You can adjust your vodka flow based on the type of day you had or the night you want.

I tend to use the chopping action, with the straw and the ice. Less waste over the top of glass. (Maybe my stirring before I adopted this method was simply too enthusiastic.)

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to take the softball that I tee'd up.

Why is this even a question for you?

Your wife said clockwise was correct. The end.

Well perhaps a more "important" questions is whether you tie your left or right shoe first.

Whiskey/Bourbon straight (usually at a poker game). Don't stir my beer. I do, however, stir the Hershey's syrup first clockwise, then counter clockwise rhythmically in a tall glass of milk to ensure a well balanced, refreshing glass of chocolate milk now and then.

I stir slow, then fast, then slow again. The key is to do all of that in two minutes or less, or else the ice melts.
