He has unilaterally invented a new form of privilege, refusing to answer a number of questions from the House Intelligence Committee on the basis that they were communications between himself and his father while attorneys were in the room.
Q: :"Did you ever speak to your father about that June 2016 meeting with all those Russians?"
A: "Can't answer that. I was communicating with my dad, and an attorney was in the room. In fact, there were two attorneys in the room."
This new form of privilege is tentatively being called the "Trump Privilege." I think it is ingenious.
Of course, Don Jr. told Sean Hannity, on Hannity's Fox News show, that he "had nothing to hide," and was prepared to "tell the whole story." ROFL.
It will be interesting to see what the House Intelligence Committee does. Republicans control it, so I wonder if this new form of "privilege" will be enshrined in our jurisprudence.
Perhaps our legal experts, Mike and Banky, can weigh in on this with their learned opinions.
