Draft Prediction: Buffalo will trade for the #4 Pick to get a QB

You are all missing the point. You as GM are not actually drafting those guys, you are drafting their future results; e.g., a great QB driven team or a great RB driven team. So, if you believe the next Tom Brady and Barry Sanders are both in this draft and both are available at #1, you would have to pick the next Brady. According to the way the game is played today, that would maximize your chances to win.

Again, does anyone anywhere think the next Tom Brady is in this draft? Not that I've seen.
Countless people have called Barkley the best RB in years if not decades.

Not that I have seen. But, if Cleveland thinks otherwise, you have to take that QB. Obviously if your choice is between the next Barry Sanders or the next Bernie Kosar, you take the next Barry Sanders and wait for the right QB.

I agree but this is no different today than it was 15 years ago. As such, you can only go by their college records and their combine. with all of that evaluation 15 years ago, Tom Brady was drafted toward the end of the sixth round. As a GM, you really just have to look at risk/reward. And with everyone in the draft, you pretty much get consensus that Barkley is the least risk/highest reward guy in the draft. My point being, there are no silver bullets.

You're right. It all comes down to evaluations. I just can't see anyone objectively stating they think one of these QBs is a lock to be great. Allen, Rosen and Darnold have traits that could make them great but all have huge concerns as well. Mayfield isn't even in the discussion as far as I'm concerned. Great college QB but...

Well, more people from Cleveland showed up to Sam Darnold's Pro Day than a Browns game, and no RB coaches showed up to see Saquon. Weird all around. Hopefully, in my view, it's the Giants, or else falling beyond #4.

It's baffling to me that people think the Browns are going to pass on the sure thing in Barkley
Because you need a quarterback. I don't see any way they take Barkley first given the QB prospects in this draft.

I don't think any of these QB prospects are worth top 5 picks let alone the top pick. None are close to what Andrew Luck was coming out of school. Barkley, Chubb, Minkah and Nelson are the top 4 players in this draft and they might go 4-7 or fall later. That's just insane to reach for QBs IMO.

Since I wrote that, there's been a lot of shakeup in the draft. I no longer feel that way.

The Browns would argue that SB is the best RB in the draft, by a mile, so why spend the time? For QB, these four are neck and neck: Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Mayfield (with two others not to far behind).

The rumor around here is that the Giants have offered to flip one and two and give the browns the second pick in the second round. But it is because the Giants want Darnold. Browns are trying to decide if they want Darnold or one of the other guys plus the overall #34 pick. The other thing is that the Bills are offering their 12 and 22 for the Browns #4. If they made both trades, the Browns would have (1st round) 2, 12, 22, (2nd round) 33, 34 (Giants), 35 (Houston) and 64 (Eagles).

Don't disagree, but it is likely QB's go 1, 2, & 3. If the Browns trade #4 to Buffalo, it will go 1, 2, 3, & 4 for QB's. I saw a guy yesterday say 6 QB's will go in the first round. It is a QB league.

I doubt the Browns take Barkley at #4. While there is a good argument that SB is nfl ready and can help them bridge to the new QB, the GM has been very vocal over the years he can get a RB later in the draft. he drafted the kid from Toledo, last year, who gained 1,400 yards a KC.
